Roxy was wearing an off–shoulder mini dress that revealed her long, striking legs. She carried herself with a cold and sophisticated air.
“Roxy, Ashton is here to take over management of Evermore Club. From today onward, it’ll belong to him,” Sylvia reported with a cheerful smile as she deliberately brushed against Ashton with a sweet, obliging expression.
Their flirtatious interaction filled Calvin with jealousy. Didn’t Sylvia have a thing for him? Why was she constantly being all intimate with Ashton? Was it just to piss him off?
He’d previously sent some suggestive photos of himself to her. Were they not explicit enough? Should he send one with his abs on display to her later?
Either way, he’d already considered Sylvia one of his future conquests. He wasn’t going to let Ashton beat him to it and take her first!
Also, did Sylvia seriously just hand over Evermore Club to Ashton? Why him? How did he deserve it!
Roxy’s brows tightened even further. “Ashton, you know perfectly well Sylvia is using you to get at me. Why are you still debasing yourself like that? Do you really think there are free lunches in this world?
“Don’t you know that Evermore Club is on the verge of collapse? Sylvia just wants you to take the fall for its failure!
“When the time comes for Evermore Club to file for bankruptcy, you’ll be the one on the hook for the debts. Your life will be ruined!”
“Don’t you dare level such awful slander at me, Roxy!” Sylvia fumed as she stared Roxy down. “Setting aside the fact that there’s no guarantee Evermore Club would go under, even if it has to close its doors someday, I would never let Ashton bear any of the responsibility for the aftermath!”
Scoffing, she added mockingly, “I’m not an ungrateful woman like you, Roxy. You’ve completely forgotten how you even managed to get to where you are now.”
The tension between the two women threatened to explode
In the end, it was Roxy who looked away first. She turned to Ashton and said, “Take my advice. Don’t take over Evermore Club. It’s doomed to fail under the shadow of my flourishing Summit Lounge.
“I’m already the biggest shareholder in Evermore Club,” Ashton coolly informed her. “From now on, it’ll come back to life under my management. It’ll surpass your Summit Lounge and become the top entertainment establishment in Javonbury.”
“You really are stubborn and foolish,” Roxy snapped in disappointment. “How many times have I told you that times have changed?
“I know you’re angry and desperate to prove yourself to me You even want to take custody of Celia, but that’s never going to happen. Forget about a year. Even if you had en years or a hundred of them, you’d never be able to turn Evermore Club into a success!”
“We’ll see about that. I don’t need a year. In just a single month, Evermore Club will completely steamroll over Summit Lounge. It’s Summit Lounge that’s going under,” Ashton calmly replied.
“What a delusional pipe dream! Why don’t you take a look yourself in the mirror first, Ashton? Do you think you’re capable of doing that?” Calvin mocked as he stood beside Roxy.
He tried to scoot nearer to Roxy in the same way Sylvia was sticking to Ashton. But Roxy took a step forward, putting some distance between them, and said, “You still haven’t lost your habit of making empty boasts, Ashton,

but reality will soon teach you just how cruel it can be!”
“The dust hasn’t settled yet, Roxy, so it’s best if you don’t rush to any conclusions for now. It’d be so embarrassing if you ended up spitting in your own face,” Sylvia remarked, her chin lifted high.
Even though she couldn’t really believe that Ashton would be able to crush Summit Lounge’s business in just a month, she wholeheartedly supported him anyway.
“We’ll see about that!” Roxy snapped.
“Yeah, we’ll see! What, you think we’d be scared?” Sylvia scoffed.
At that moment, a Ferrari pulled up to Summit Lounge. Out came a man and a woman who proceeded to walk up to Roxy.
