Chapter 68
Sylvia introduced the man and woman to Ashton.
“Ashton, that’s Natalie York, known as the Queen of Booze here in Javonbury. Beside her is her maternal cousin, Hank Shelton. A huge part of Summit Lounge’s present success comes from its partnership with Natalie, which has given them a monopoly on imported liquor.”
Sighing, Sylvia commented, “I’ve tried to meet with Natalie in secret several times now, but I’ve never been able to secure a deal for a supply of high–end imported liquor.”
It went without saying that a luxury entertainment establishment needed to have a supply of expensive imported liquor, such as premium malt whiskeys, vintage wines, or the legendary 1946 tequila.
If they could be found in one establishment and not the other, it was obvious where the customers would choose to frequent.
This had been Sylvia’s biggest headache and one of the main reasons for Evermore Club’s decline.
“Ms. York!”
Roxy broke into a dazzling smile when she saw Natalie. She stepped forward and gave Natalie a hug, saying, “I’ve arranged the best spa treatments for you today. I’ve also prepared a private room on the fourth floor for you, Mr. Shelton.”
“You’re just as thoughtful as ever, Roxy,” Natalie replied.
She was a radiant, captivating woman with a voluptuous body. It was her curves that commanded the most attention, enabling her to exude an air of feminine charms.
Calvin couldn’t resist swallowing hard when he saw Natalie. She was just as stunning as Roxy. If he could claim her for himself as well…
He couldn’t stop himself from fantasizing about it already.
“You’re too kind, Ms. Sloan. Our company, Yorkshore Group, will be importing a new batch of liquor soon. We’ll make sure you get the first pick,” Hank said in a gentlemanly manner.
“It’s Summit Lounge’s greatest honor to get to work with Yorkshore Group. Please, come in!” Roxy said with a faint smile that conveyed her triumphant pride.
Before turning away, she didn’t forget to shoot Sylvia a taunting smirk. This was the reason for her confidence. How could Evermore Club compete with her Summit Lounge?
There was no way Ashton could surpass her in assets within just a single year.
Once the year was up, she would see to it that Ashton never saw Celia again. Celia didn’t need a useless father in her life!
“Let’s go inside, Ashton,” Sylvia said somewhat helplessly
She didn’t want to stick around to see the smug look on Roxy’s face.
“Hang on. Did you say that Natalie and Hank are cousins?” Ashton abruptly asked.
“That’s right. Hank’s the only living close relative Natalie ls, so she trusts him completely. She’s put him in charge of many of Yorkshore Group’s matters,” Sylvia said,
“I’ve considered establishing a connection with him to strike a supply deal with Yorkshore Group, but he’s the lecherous type…”

Sylvia didn’t go any further. She was a beautiful woman and no stranger to having men lust after her. Plenty had tried to use all sorts of tricks to take advantage of her. It was one of the reasons why she was having a difficult time running her business.
“I see…”
Ashton thought for a moment before walking toward Natale.
Hank, who was standing beside Natalie, quickly noticed Ashton’s approach. He stuck his hand out to block Ashton while snapping with a hostile expression, “Hold it right there!”
“Ashton? What do you want?” Roxy questioned, her gaze cold.
Natalie looked at Ashton curiously, as if vaguely recognizing him. “Roxy, is this that ex–husband of yours?”
Roxy nodded.
Sylvia was startled as well. She hurried over and forced out a smile as she tried to smooth things over. “Ms. York, Ashton is now in charge of Evermore Club. Since we’re all here tonight, it’s a good opportunity to get acquainted with one another.”
