Chapter 714
However, the sentinels and the vanguards couldn’t find a single word to refute Ashton.
Ashton shifted his focus back to Flint and smiled. “Since today’s your 80th birthday, and I’ve come as your guest, it’s only right that I bring a gift. I hope you enjoy it.”
“Oh?” Flint sneered. He wanted to see what else this brat had up his sleeve.
Ashton waved his hand. In an instant, the wind howled.
A black coffin that had been waiting outside tore through the air. It spiraled through the hall before slamming heavily into the floor. Resting right on top of the black coffin was a pair of horns.
“It’s a coffin and a pair of horns. Mr. Vance, this is my birthday gift to you. Please accept it.”
Ashton burst into a wild, arrogant laugh.
The atmosphere turned deadly in an instant. A stunned silence fell over the hall as everyone felt a jolt of pure shock at his sheer audacity.
There was no going back. He had just declared a blood feud that could only end when one of them was dead.
“Ashton has a hell of a nerve. Dropping a coffin at the Sage’s 80th birthday is basically a demand for them to hurry up and die. And that pair of horns? He’s telling the world he stole the Sage’s woman.
“This is no longer just an insult but a direct slap in the face. This kind of behavior is enough to warrant a life–or–death match.”
“It looks like Ashton never planned on leaving this estate. Even if the Sage kills him on the spot, no one can say a word.”
“Things are getting interesting. I haven’t seen the Sage this angry in years. You don’t rule the criminal underworld for decades by being a pushover.”
The instant the black coffin appeared, Flint’s eyes flared with blazing killing intent as he barked, “Guards!”
Almost at once, terrifying auras erupted from every direction.
The experts, whom he had spent years cultivating, swarmed from the shadows. Every one of them radiated a crushing killing intent, their eyes locked onto Ashton. One word from Flint, and they would tear him apart without hesitation.
At the same time, the forces backing Flint rose to their feet and stepped in front of him. They released the same cold hostility as they fixed their gazes on Ashton. Among them were Cadence and Tybalt.
A sea of killers stretched out before him. Every one of them was at least a grandmaster, while several were SSS–ranked transcendent realm experts. The weight of their combined killing intent fell on Ashton like a crushing hammer.
“Ashton! Your insolence at my birthday banquet is tantamount to making enemies of these powerful figures in Javonbury. Today, I’ll teach you a lesson you’ll never forget. Otherwise, I have no right to call myself the ruler of the criminal underworld.”
Flint’s voice thundered, radiating the raw, oppressive authority of a man who had held the city in his grip for decades.
At that moment, Louie, Gene, and Wanda rushed forward. They stood behind Ashton, standing shoulder–to–shoulder with him against Flint’s forces.
The clash of power and killing intent began.
The air crackled with invisible sparks as their energies collided. But the reality was grim–Ashton’s side was outnumbered and outmatched.
If the slaughter started now, they didn’t stand a chance. If he couldn’t break through this wall of flesh and steel, he wouldn’t even earn the right to face Flint.
