“Are you… feeling better?” Melody asked, unable to hide her concern.
She looked at Ashton with a slightly unfocused gaze. The innocence that once defined her expression now carried a trace of maturity.
“I feel much better,” he replied.
He felt like a man who had starved for three days and had just eaten to his heart’s content. As the Drakell technique surged through him, he had drawn almost all of the spiritual energy from her Genesis constitution.
The wounds on Ashton’s body were visibly close to healing. A faint dark glow flickered around him, and his aura grew strong
once more.
In addition, his blood now carried traces of the Genesis constitution’s spiritual energy. It further stimulated the Drakeborne lineage and strengthened his heartbeat.
Ashton could clearly sense the barrier holding him back from the divine realm, but what surprised him was that there seemed to be a shackle and a seal buried deep within his soul. That unseen restraint blocked his path into the divine realm and continually suppressed him beneath it.
He believed that once he broke every restraint and entered the divine realm, a tremendous transformation would occur within him. That transformation could bring opportunity or grave danger.
“Get some proper rest. I’ll come see you again in a few days,” Ashton said as he pulled the blanket up over Melody.
Judging by her current state, she would need several days to recover before she regained her usual liveliness. The previous night, he had clearly pushed her too hard.
Melody hummed, then nodded shyly. Her expression when she looked at him was no longer the same. She no longer tried to hide her feelings, and a clear affection showed in her gaze.
But now, she was already thinking about the next time they shared a night. She finally understood why Sylvia had fallen so deeply for him.
After a short while, Ashton stepped out of the villa. He prepared to head to Nimbus Summit Heights to break through into the divine realm together with Faye, who possessed the Phoenixborne constitution.
He believed that cultivating under the harmony of the dragon and phoenix, combined with the abundant spiritual energy surrounding the villa, might allow him to break through a realm barrier. Only by reaching the divine realm before the hie–or- death duel would he stand a real chance at Terminus Cliff.
Ashton’s eyes narrowed when he saw Roxy leave home at that moment and walk to Cassian’s side. Their gazes met, and an undercurrent of killing intent surged silently between them.
“Ashton, what a coincidence.”
Cassian, dressed in white, looked composed and refined. A faint, superior smile curved his lips as he looked down at Ashton.
However, Ashton didn’t respond.
Cassian’s eyes narrowed slightly, and he sent his voice to Ashton via telepathic communication.
“After the life–or–death duel at Terminus Cliff, I will use your head as a gift when I propose to Roxy. Doing a paired cultivation with a Primordial Innate constitution like hers will help me reach the absolute peak and stand unmatched.”
Ashton remained indifferent as he strode away. As for Cassian’s plan to propose to Roxy, it had nothing to do with him.
“Not only that. When the time comes, Celia will call me Dad and forget you ever existed. The Legion will be wiped out, and there’ll be no chance for it to rise again. Javonbury will fall back into my hands, and every one of your men will be eliminated.

“You, the so–called ruler of the criminal underworld of Javonbury, will only exist for ten days.”
Cassian continued speaking telepathically, a cold light settling in his eyes.
Ashton stopped mid–step and turned around, fixing Cassian with a dark, steady stare. He knew Cassian was trying to provoke him and disrupt his state of mind.
But the moment Cassian brought up his daughter, Ashton couldn’t let that pass.
