Chapter 84

Even for someone of Natalie’s power and influence, it would be almost impossible to call upon an S–ranked expert.

“Why are you looking at me?” Ashton asked puzzledly when he saw Natalie stare at him.

“It’s nothing. I was just wondering how Roxy could be so stupid as to divorce you. Does she even realize the kind of man she’s throwing away?”

Steadying her breathing, Natalie used the coffee table to support herself as she got back on her feet. Her body felt noticeably lighter now. This was the most relaxed she’d been in recent years.

In front of Ashton, she didn’t need to keep up the facade of a powerful businesswoman. She could simply be herself. After all, she had already agreed to obey nine of his commands without question.

It abruptly struck her that perhaps this wasn’t such a bad thing after all.

“Mr. Gray, what do you think I should do with Hank now? Should I hire someone to kill him? Or should I have him seized and interrogated to find the real mastermind?” Natalie asked for his advice.

In the past, she had always confronted the storms of the outside world alone. Now, for the first time, she realized she had someone she could actually discuss these things with. That felt pretty good.

“I think it’s best not to do anything first. Wait until the other side gets desperate before taking all of them down in one fell swoop,” Ashton said. “If you deal with Hank now, the mastermind pulling the strings from behind might sense danger and go into hiding.

“That would mean you’d have a threat lingering in the shadows. There’s no telling when the threat might resurface.”

He continued, “Besides, we don’t know just how powerful this mastermind is. We should do some investigations first and formulate a plan before we strike.”

Listening to him, Natalie found herself admiring him even more. His thoughts lined up exactly with hers.

“If I’m in danger, will you show up in time to save me, Mr. Gray? Just the thought of having a wicked man who practices parasitic arts right beside me scares me…”

Natalie changed her demeanor again, this time acting all weak and pitiful.

Even Ashton was stunned. Just how many sides did she have to her?

“I’ve said that I believe that all who practice the parasitic arts are wicked and depraved. I will certainly deal with them. Once we have our target, I’ll make a move,” Ashton promised.

“That’s great!” Natalie exclaimed, feeling more at ease. “Does that mean I can come to see you anytime, Mr. Gray? The massage you gave me earlier felt so good…”

Ashton shot her a look. What did she take him for?

“I’ll come to you when it’s time to administer your treatment,” Ashton said flatly.

Natalie gave him a wounded look. “Honestly, Mr. Gray, why don’t we date? I really do have a favorable impression of you. If we end up together, the entire Yorkshore Group would be yours. I’d gladly step back and be the perfect wife supporting you from behind.”

Just then, there was a knock on the door. Ashton had summoned Sylvia.

He was worried that if he allowed Natalie to continue charming him like this, he’d end up using his first

Sylvia and Felice stepped into the room. Their eyes immediately landed on Natalie, with her slightly disheveled clothes and subtly exposed chest.
