Chapter 85
Even Sylvia had to admit that Natalie was an incredibly alluring woman. Her sultry figure and notable standing in society made her fatally attractive to any man.
“Why are you so nervous, Ms. Langley? Are you afraid I’d cat Mr. Gray?” Natalie asked with a chuckle. “Mr. Gray and I hit it off right away. We’ve been chatting like old friends, and we’ve certainly become the best of friends now.
Sylvia’s brows arched, her gaze flicking back and forth between Natalie and Ashton. Her instincts as a woman screamed that something had happened between them.
She sighed to herself. While she’d always known she could never have Ashton all to herself, she hadn’t expected a rival to show up this quickly.
“Ms. Hammond, I’ve already discussed a business deal with Ms. York. You can now proceed directly to Yorkshore Group’s warehouse and pick out whatever you need to provide Evermore Club with a steady supply of booze.
“As for the finer details of a contract, head over to their office when you’re free and finalize them. Oh, and Ms. York has generously agreed to provide us with the goods at cost price. Not only that, but she’s going to be supplying liquor to us exclusively as well.
“Starting tonight, she’ll be terminating all business with Summit Lounge,” Ashton said with a smile.
This was his first command to Natalie.
“Really?” Felice exclaimed, her voice shaking in excitement. She wasn’t at all prepared to hear such wonderful
news.
Natalie glared at Ashton. Her voice was a little disgruntled as she replied, “Yes, it’s true. After all, Mr. Gray is my good friend.”
“Thank you so much, Ms. York! I’ll bring my people over to Yorkshore Group right away!” Felice eagerly declared.
Natalie simply nodded. After touching up her makeup, she batted her eyelashes at Ashton and said, “Show me out?

They exited Evermore Club together.
The moment Natalie appeared, Hank perked up. He quickly hid the venomous expression he had on his face earlier and hurried forward with a fawning smile.
“What took you so long, Nat? I was out here worrying the whole time, afraid that Ashton might hurt you somehow!”
It was as if he’d forgotten how she’d slapped him earlier. His words were sweet and his smile obsequious, but the whole time, he kept observing her carefully.
“There was nothing for you to worry about. Mr. Gray wouldn’t harm me in any way,” Natalie replied.
She maintained the same attitude she’d always had with Hank.
Seeing no visible change in her, Hank secretly let out a sigh of relief. Still, he shot Ashton a vicious glare. “That’s not necessarily true. You can never really know a person. It’s best if you keep your guard up, Nat.”
“I know,” she said curtly.
Natalie proceeded to walk up to Roxy.
“Ms. York…”

Roxy saw the way Natalie approached her with an unreadable smile and noticed the faint blush on Natalie’s face. Her heart jolted with a sense of foreboding.
“Ms. Sloan, I regret to inform you that from tonight onward, all of the deals between Yorkshore Group and Summit Lounge are hereby coming to an end. After tonight we will no longer be able to provide our goods to you. I hope you understand,” Natalie said.
She’d resumed her usual imposing air, unlike the coyness she had shown with Ashton before. Her words struck like a bolt of lightning, shocking everyone around her.
Everyone knew Yorkshore Group and Summit Lounge had been working together for five years. It was rumored that Natalie and Roxy shared a close personal friendship. They were even supposed to be signing a long–term partnership deal tonight.
But now, Natalie had stood in front of everyone and unilaterally declared the end of that partnership.
It was no different from slapping Roxy across the face.
But why was Natalie doing this? What on earth had she and Ashton discussed in private?
Completely blindsided by this, Roxy stood frozen, her mind going blank.
