Before leaving to get the job done, Isaac asked tentatively, “Mr. Gray, should we also send some people to cause a scene at Summit Lounge?”

“It’s fine. We don’t need to do anything more,” Ashton answered.

That night, the Darkfang Gang, the Crimsons, and the Triune, three of the biggest criminal underworld factions in Javonbury, all received the same news at the same time.

Isaac and his men had cut all ties with Summit Group, and the man behind Isaac, who had once cowed these criminal bosses into obedience, would no longer protect Summit Group either.

Roxy was sitting in her office at Summit Lounge. Her chest ached with fury as her mind kept replaying Ashton’s heartless words and expression.

“Ashton’s just a piece of crap, Roxy. It doesn’t matter that he seduced Natalie and secured the liquor supply for himself. Once Natalie gets bored with him and realizes his true colors, she’ll cancel the deal herself,” Calvin said in an attempt to console Roxy.

“As for the liquor supply issue, I’ll settle it for you. Emerson Group has some connections, too. I refuse to believe I can’t find a better supplier than Yorkshore Group.

“There’s no denying the solid foundation Summit Lounge has. They’re delusional if they think Evermore Club can surpass us.”

Roxy exhaled heavily. “I don’t care about Ashton. I know he’s just trying to prove himself to me. The more he acts like this, the more ridiculous he looks.”

“That’s right. We can’t let that lowlife deter us. Why don’t I have a few drinks with you later?” Calvin suggested with an expectant gaze.

Since returning to the country, he hadn’t even managed to touch Roxy’s hand. He was dying to claim her for himself.

He wanted to take all the humiliation he suffered from Ashton out on her. Then, he’d film it and send it to Ashton to rub salt in the wound.

Just the thought of this made him giddy.

“You should head back and get some rest. I’ve got work to settle,” Roxy said plainly as she continued to keep a polite distance from Calvin.

The place is in chaos right now,” Anna anxiously reported. Startled, Calvin hurriedly exclaimed, “How could this happen? Where’s the security? Why didn’t they stop them!” “Our security team tried, but they were all beaten up!” Anna replied. Lowering her head, she quietly added, ‘ Without Mr. Carter and his men around, the other people we hired were no match for these men.

“You need to think of something, Ms. Sloan. If we let them carry on causing trouble at Summit Lounge, it’ll be impossible for us to operate properly. We’re already facing staggering losses just for today!”

Feeling vexed, Roxy asked, “Why didn’t anyone call the police?”

“Ms. Sloan, these men came sauntering into the place, claiming they were here as paying customers. Even if we want to report them to the police, we have no grounds to do so,” Anna explained.

After some hesitation, she suggested, “Why don’t you find a way to get Mr. Carter over for a bit, Ms. Sloan? With his connections, I’m sure he’d be able to resolve this matter. The longer this drags on, the worse it is for Summit Lounge’s reputation.”
