Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 18

She felt completely lost, as if the world had pulled the ground out from under her feet. She had no family, no real home, nothing left to call her own.

Jace had never even shared a bed with her, but suddenly he suggested they both get medical check-ups, talking about preparing for a baby. Wiona wanted that so badly. She longed for a child, someone who would truly be hers, someone she could call family. She agreed without hesitation.

However, the results hit her like ice water. The doctor told her it would be nearly impossible for her to conceive naturally. Becoming a mother was only a faint hope. Jace had been there, gentle and supportive, comforting her through every tear. He gave her the courage to try IVF, to go through egg retrieval and all the painful steps. For a whole year, she clung to the idea that he was there for her, that he cared.

Only now did she see the truth.

Jace had tampered with the medical report. The IVF, the embryo transfer, it was all a show. He wanted her to carry a child for him and Kellen. That way, he could stay loyal to Kellen and use the pregnancy as an excuse to never touch his own wife. Worse, he believed she was the one who had driven Kellen away and wanted to punish her for it.

Even now, with her pregnancy, he hired a doctor to give her daily injections, making sure she suffered every single day.

Thinking about how she’d been used by both of them made Wiona shake with anger. She tore the reports in her hands, shredding them into pieces. Her face was tight with rage. Her heart was nothing but hate.

Divorce? No. Divorce would be too easy. Letting them go like that would be a gift. Wiona decided her life would be better if she was a widow.

Dr. Cano watched her, frozen in fear, barely daring to breathe. If she hated them, maybe she wouldn’t hate him.

On the way out of the hospital, Remy stayed silent, careful not to upset Wiona any further. Wiona finally took a deep breath and asked, “If I keep getting this upset, will it hurt the baby?”

Remy nodded quickly. “Yes, it will. Your mood can affect the baby’s health and development in every way. And if you stay stressed, it can even lead to postpartum depression. So, Mrs. Salisbury, you really need to take care of yourself. Keep calm and give yourself some love.”

Wiona nodded, agreeing. “You’re right. For me, and for the baby, I have to stay steady.”

Wiona’s expression shifted. She stared at Remy, confused. “You’re looking for that painter, W? And the Sullivan family you mean… is it the one I’m thinking of?”

Remy smiled. “Didn’t Mr. Sullivan give you his card? Not many people get that. And in all of Stonehill, there’s only one Conrad Sullivan.”

Wiona’s heart skipped a beat. It really was him. Mr. Sullivan was the father of her unborn twins.

Remy’s respectful attitude toward Mr. Sullivan last night all made sense now. She was working for him. She was at the Salisbury estate for one reason: to find W.

Last night, after a long hesitation, Wiona had used the number on the card to send a friend request. He’d accepted quickly, but after transferring the money, she hadn’t looked at the messages again. Deep down, she wanted to keep her children to herself. She didn’t want anyone else to know the truth about their father. She had always planned to keep it from the Sullivan family, especially Mr. Sullivan.

She forced her face to stay calm, though her knuckles were white from gripping her cup. “Why is the Sullivan family looking for this painter W? Can you tell me?”
