Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 195

“Mr. Sullivan? What are you doing here?”

“When did you get here?”

“How long have you been here?”

Conrad replied, “I came by around five twenty.”

He glanced at her, his eyes steady. “You were sleeping so peacefully.”

Wiona felt her heart skip, her cheeks warming as she met his gaze. Had he really been in the motorhome for four hours? She glanced at the little table beside her, where his laptop sat open. He must have been working while she slept. Was it because she had taken the only bed? Then… he hadn’t left last night. He’d stayed in the hospital all this time. Why else would he be here to rest before dawn?

The idea that they’d been alone together for hours, just the two of them, made her feel awkward and a little self-conscious.

“I’m sorry, I took your spot,” she blurted, trying to get out of bed.

But Conrad’s hand landed gently but firmly on her shoulder, keeping her in place. “You should eat breakfast first.”

“You’re already having low blood sugar.”

He brought over a container and opened it. The warm scent of breakfast filled the space. There was milk, some simple sides, a fried egg, and pancakes, so she could pick whatever she wanted.

It was all so thoughtful. He had no way to know when she’d wake, but he’d kept everything ready for her. Wiona was taken aback by how considerate he was.

For a moment, she didn’t know what to say. But she was starving and her stomach complained, so she didn’t bother pretending she wasn’t hungry. She just dug in.

Conrad poured her a glass of milk.

“Thank you,” she said quietly.

As she ate, questions kept racing through her mind. Wasn’t he the head of the Sullivan Group? He’s supposed to be always busy, the sort of person who had assistants and staff for everything. How could he be so gentle and attentive in private? Was it because he’d taken care of Alice before?

But she’d seen another side of him too. That night, he’d carried her with one arm and fought off a dozen men without breaking a sweat. The man who was so thoughtful and gentle with her now was the same man who could be fierce and unstoppable in a fight. He was also the one who always showed up when she needed help, handling every problem as if it was nothing.

The more she thought about it, the more flustered she felt. She didn’t dare look at him again and just kept eating faster, hoping to finish and get out of there.

But in her rush, she almost choked.

Just four words, but Wiona immediately understood what he meant.

Conrad leaned back in his seat, rubbing his brow and closing his eyes. In the front, Korey glanced at him, worry in his eyes. “Mr. Sullivan, you operated all night yourself. You only came out at dawn. I doubt you got any real rest in the motorhome.”

There was only one bed in there, and it was obvious who had been using it.

For a moment, Korey felt a tiny flash of envy. Mr. Sullivan was so good to Ms. Morgan. Did she even realize it?

“You talk too much,” Conrad said, his tone flat.

“Has there been any movement from Sam?”

Korey straightened, slipping back into work mode. “Yes, Mr. Sullivan. Sam sent people to the hospital to check on Adler, but we already wiped all the records. Adler’s been moved to the rehab center. He’s got a professional team looking after him. The hospital staff won’t say a word.”

“If we hadn’t covered our tracks, there’s no way we could have kept this from Sam.”

Conrad’s voice was cold. “Then give him something else to worry about. Keep him too busy to meddle in this.”
