Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 233

“Oh no, this is exactly how it goes in those romance novels. There’s no way she could’ve gotten out tonight without some plot twist. I’ve seen all those fake heiress and real heiress stories, too. We were finally starting to understand each other, finally becoming friends. I just can’t stand the thought that she felt so desperate because of me that she had to find herself a rich backer. Even my brother was stumped, and suddenly out of nowhere, this mysterious big shot shows up, someone even my brother can’t figure out. And Wiona has him saved in her phone as ‘Big Creditor.’ What else could that mean? What are we supposed to do now? I can’t let Wiona get swallowed up by those powerful people. I have to help her.”

The more Madison thought about it, the deeper her frown got. She was even willing to go back to the Morgan family and give up her own freedom if that’s what it took to help Wiona out of this mess.

In the front seat, Mason finally broke the silence. He was starting to worry that Madison might do something dramatic and end up making things worse for Wiona. “Ms. Morgan, maybe you should start by deleting those novel apps off your phone.”

“Why?” Madison shot back.

“Because those over-the-top romance plots aren’t going to happen to Wiona.”

Sure, Mr. Sullivan was the most powerful man in Stonehill, but Mason could see just how much respect he had for his boss. Every time he helped her, he did it quietly, never showing his face. No one in Stonehill had any idea how close she actually was to the Sullivan family. If anything, Mr. Sullivan was playing a long game.

Meanwhile, in another car, Wiona found herself facing a pair of dark, unreadable eyes.

“Looks like you’ve had quite a few adventures while I was gone, Ms. Morgan.”

Conrad looked tired, but his words still had that familiar teasing edge.

“Mr. Sullivan, I’d say you were pretty involved yourself,” she replied.

In the darkness, Conrad leaned closer. “Is that really how you thank me?”

Before she could react, his head suddenly dropped, resting against her shoulder and neck. Wiona froze. What was happening? Why did he suddenly—

Then she realized something was off. “Mr. Sullivan?” she whispered. “Mr. Sullivan? Conrad?” No response. She reached up to move his head, but the moment her hand touched his forehead, she knew. He was burning up. His skin was scorching hot, like a furnace. Had he fainted from a fever?

Wiona looked up at Korey in the front seat. “Is Mr. Sullivan sick?”

“Wiona!” Alice’s little face lit up the second she saw her, and she ran straight over. If Remy hadn’t gently stopped her, Wiona probably would’ve been knocked flat. Once Alice calmed down, Remy let go and gave her a gentle reminder. “Miss, be careful. Wiona has babies in her belly. If you run into her too hard, you could hurt them.”

Alice’s mouth dropped open in shock, big enough to fit a whole egg. She stared at Wiona’s stomach in disbelief. “Really? There are babies? Does that mean… I get to be an auntie? Wiona, that’s amazing…” Her pretty eyes sparkled with excitement.

Wiona smiled warmly. “That’s right, there are babies in my tummy. But Alice, you’ll always be my big baby.”

Alice blushed, suddenly shy. Remy just shook his head, impressed. When Ms. Morgan wanted to, she really knew how to win people over.

Wiona thought, you’re already a real aunt, but that’s a secret the Sullivan family could never find out.

Conrad was carried straight up to his room using the private elevator. The doctors were already waiting. As soon as he was settled, they got to work taking care of him. Wiona decided to grab something to eat first.
