Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 328

The unexpected accident forced Wiona to scrap her original plans.

Peter asked, “Ms. Morgan, are we heading back now?”

Wiona checked the time. “Since we’re already out, let’s stop by the hospital.”

She went to visit her mentor again. To her relief, he was finally out of the ICU. He still hadn’t woken up, but at least his body was starting to recover.

But there was one thing Wiona couldn’t stop worrying about. “Will he become a vegetable?”

The doctor shook his head. “We can’t promise anything. If he doesn’t wake up in the next month, the risk of a vegetative state goes way up. Please prepare yourself.”

Wiona didn’t want to accept that. She couldn’t imagine how Summer would deal with it.

She sat by Cassian’s bed for a while. Just as she was getting ready to leave, Wilson showed up, carrying a bouquet. He looked surprised to see her.

“Wiona? I didn’t expect you here.”

She stood up and greeted him politely. “Hi Wilson.”

He nodded, gave a quick glance to the bodyguard behind Wiona, then walked over to set the flowers on the table. His eyes landed on Wiona’s now slightly rounded belly, and his face lit up. “You’re pregnant? That’s great news! Why haven’t you told Bronwen?”

Wiona felt awkward. “I don’t think she wants to know. Anyway, since you’re here, I’ll get out of your way.”

She turned to leave, but Wilson followed her out of the room. “Let me walk with you. There’s something I want to say.”

As soon as they stepped into the hallway, the caregiver waiting by the door slipped into Cassian’s room.

Wilson and Wiona walked side by side down the hospital corridor. He brought up Bronwen. “She has really changed these past few years. It’s not just with you. She’s different with Ann, with me, with almost everyone close to her. We all feel a little powerless. All we can do is try to go along with her and keep the family together. Wiona, please don’t be mad at her. Maybe one day she’ll realize she made a mistake.”

He lifted his hand like he might pat her shoulder, but hesitated, then just adjusted his glasses instead.

“You should go. Come see Cassian when you have time.”

Wiona nodded, said goodbye, and headed off.

Mason agreed, sensing her tension. “Boss, are you alright?”

Wiona let out a breath she didn’t realize she’d been holding. “I’m fine.”

Back when Cassian first had his accident, both she and Summer thought for sure they’d find some clue at the opera house. But when the police investigated, nothing came up. Mr. Bishop hadn’t believed it, so he’d gone searching on his own for days. But the place was spotless. It was almost like Cassian’s fall really was just a freak accident. Unless… someone had cleaned up all the evidence. Otherwise, none of this made sense.

Wiona had hoped that when Cassian woke up, everything would become clear. But as the days dragged on and there was still no sign of him waking, it felt like everyone was just starting to forget. If the case was ruled an accident, and her mentor really did become a vegetable…

Wiona’s heart sank. She was sure someone was pulling strings from behind the scenes. Now that she’d picked up on it, there was no way she’d let things slide.

“Find some reliable people to keep watch outside my teacher’s hospital room. Set up shifts. Pay them well. Their only job is to keep him safe.”

Mason agreed to everything.

Wiona then asked, “By the way, have you found Adler yet? How’s Molly?”
