Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 376

“He asked me, as a monster exiled from the family, what I was doing back here. Then he warned me. Said if I make any trouble, he wouldn’t care that I’m his uncle. He’d handle me himself. That boy… He lost my brother when he was only seventeen. No wonder he’s grown up so cold and heartless. I get it. Still, the way he acts like I don’t matter at all, that’s hard to swallow.

“I wonder if I managed to fool him when I pretended to lose my temper, sweeping the whole tea set off the nightstand. Did he believe his dear uncle is just some angry, out-of-control brute? What do you think, Donna?”

As Devin finished, Donna’s eyes widened and started to tremble. The fear in her gaze was impossible to hide anymore. Sweat beaded on her forehead. Then her eyes rolled back and she collapsed right there on the floor.

Devin looked down at her, clearly disgusted, and pushed her aside. “Pathetic.”

He walked to the door, opened it, and called out, “Someone, get this useless thing out of here.”

On the way to the Schmidt family’s house, Conrad got a call from Phil. He listened quietly, then hung up without saying a word.

Wiona sat beside him, watching as his face suddenly turned icy. She spoke softly, careful not to startle him. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”

Conrad’s eyes were dark and distant. “No…” He glanced down at her, saw the worry in her clear eyes, and paused before sighing. “It’s Donna. She fainted in Devin’s room. There were marks on her neck, like someone tried to strangle her.”

Wiona stared at him, shocked. “Devin… you mean your uncle, the one only ten years older than you? Why would he do that to Donna?”

Conrad’s voice was quiet, almost cold. “Because he’s insane.”

Something dark flickered in his eyes, and his face grew even more serious. “Wiona, if you weren’t my wife, I’d never talk about the Sullivan family’s secrets. I’d be ashamed to even bring them up. But Devin’s back. I need you to know everything, so you can stay safe. Listen to me. Stay away from him, no matter what. Even if you see him, don’t greet him, don’t talk to him. Just ignore him, understand? He’s a madman. Completely and utterly insane.”

Seth, his father, was so furious he started coughing up blood. “Those were people, Devin! Living, breathing people! You heartless monster! Someone get him! I’ll kill him myself!”

Conrad’s father, Jonathan, went up to the roof and dragged his brother down, pinning him to the ground. “Devin, what you’ve done is unforgivable. You killed so many people… do you really feel nothing? Not even a little bit of guilt?”

Devin started to cry, but his voice was full of anger. “No! I wanted them all gone! Every one of them! None of you know what they did to me! This is what they deserved!”

His face twisted with rage, and for a moment, Jonathan actually wondered if there was more to the story. Maybe they’d all missed something about Devin. He questioned him right there. “Fine. I’ll give you a chance. Tell me why they deserved to die. If you can give me a reason, I promise I won’t let you take all the blame alone.”

Devin looked up at his brother, pitiful and tear-streaked. “Jonathan, you know why. Melissa lost my rabbit. My favorite rabbit. She did it on purpose. She knew it would drive me crazy, but she did it anyway. Doesn’t she deserve it?”
