Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 422

Sophie looked worried. “But Wiona and my aunt still haven’t turned up.” She hesitated, her voice low. “Even if I run into Conrad, I won’t be able to explain anything right now.”

She glanced at Giana. “Can I ask you to go ahead and stall Conrad for a bit?”

Sophie’s eyes pleaded for understanding. “Just give me ten minutes. I swear, I’ll bring Wiona out in ten minutes.”

Giana’s expression shifted. Suspicion flickered in her eyes. Why is Sophie only bringing this up now? If she had a way to lure out Wiona, why wait until things got this tense? It’s obvious she’s stalling. Or maybe she’s got some backup plan she doesn’t want me to see. Annoyance prickled at Giana.

A security guard rushed over, out of breath. “Ma’am, it’s bad. Mr. Sullivan just came through the main gate with a whole crowd. They’re heading straight for the banquet hall.”

Giana’s face drained of color. She didn’t have time to argue with Sophie anymore. She left a few people behind to keep an eye on her, then turned and ran out.

The moment Giana was gone, Sophie turned to the guys left behind. Her tone was icy. “Do you have any kind of drug that causes excruciating pain? Something so intense that even a big guy can’t take it, he’ll be screaming his head off?”

She looked each of them in the eye. “The louder the screams, the better. I don’t care about side effects. I want the strongest, fastest thing you’ve got.”

The guys looked shaken. One of them stammered, “Is this... for those two? Isn’t this going too far?”

“Ms. Clements, this is poison. If it’s too strong, it could kill them.”

Sophie just shrugged. “Poison? Don’t make it sound so dramatic. Sometimes you need tough methods to get results. You’ve got the antidote, right? That’s all we need. The most important thing right now is finding the missing people.”

She leaned in, her gaze sharp. “Didn’t you hear? Conrad’s here. Why do you think he showed up? That’s Wiona’s doing. She tipped him off, made him think we did something to his mother.” Sophie’s words came quick and clipped. “So we need to find Mrs. Sullivan, right now. If something happens to her, are you ready to explain that to the Simpson family?”

If she couldn’t finish them off, then at the very least she needed to hurt them badly enough that they couldn’t talk.

She shot a cold glare at the two men tied to chairs across the room. Nikolai and Drake were both battered and bruised, blood smeared on their faces. They’d only been captured because a mob of Simpson security guards jumped them all at once. Under normal circumstances, no way would they have been caught so easily.

Now, with Mr. Sullivan coming and Sophie failing to get what she wanted, she was losing her cool. She was ready to do something desperate. Nikolai and Drake could see right through her.

They glanced at each other, anger burning in their eyes.

“Ms. Clements, you really think you can hurt us and keep it from Mr. Sullivan?” Nikolai spat, voice rough.

Drake glared up at her. “Mr. Sullivan will never let you walk away.”
