Divorced My Cheating Husband, Married A Billionaire novel Chapter 116

"This is a great opportunity," Clarisa Astor-Barlowe said while walking into the Plaza Hotel.

"Yes, but who is this person? Why so mysterious?" William asked his wife.

"He said you would be surprised! So, I will keep it a secret until we arrive at our meeting place." Clarisa put a hand on her waist and said, "Come on."

They were meeting a potential buyer for Astor Drug Store. Not that they were planning to sell, but since someone expressed interest, Clarisa and William considered having a partnership or selling at a very high price.

Strangely, though, Clarisa said the buyer would like to remain mysterious, at least to him. Why?

Sadly, William could not get it out of his wife. So, he followed her lead into a small conference room. A man with a solemn look was waiting for them. He said, "My name is Max. The boss will be here any minute now."

William and Clarisa waited anxiously. It took only five minutes before the doors to the conference room opened. A woman with blonde hair entered. She was elegant and captivating.

Oh, William was smitten, but he could also tell the woman wasn't the type to get herself involved with a married man.

"Hi, my name is Riley," the lady introduced herself. "I am Adrian's wife."

"Oh, it's nice to meet you! You are so beautiful!" Clarisa exclaimed. She eagerly rushed to Riley, and they greeted each other, the Italian way.

'Did she say, Adrian?' William gulped. His heart started to race. He was about to get up when the door opened again, and the man he feared entered, driving his wheelchair.

'No, this can't be happening!' William screamed in his head.

"Mrs. Barlowe, Adrian King. It's nice to finally meet you," Adrian introduced himself.

Clarisa had a bright smile on her face as she shook Adrian's hand. She turned to William and said, "Surprise! Oh, William, why didn't you tell me you were acquainted with Mr. King!"

"When Adrian said you knew each other and wanted to buy the company, I was so excited!" Clarisa explained. "Mr. King asked me to keep his name a secret because he wanted to surprise you!"

"Are you surprised, William?" Adrian asked. He was smiling, but William saw a wicked plan behind his pleasant appearance.

"So, tell me, William, where did you meet Adrian King? Aren't you even going to... greet him?" Clarisa asked. At first, she was very excited, but her expression had now turned bemused.

William was just sitting there, sweating like he was in a sauna, and his face became drained of color. He was terrified, but soon, his anger took over because, clearly, this meeting was a setup!

"I don't know Mr. King!" William snapped. He rose from his seat and said to his wife, "Let's leave!"

"Not very kind are we, Mr. Barlowe," Adrian said coldly. Before William knew it, two more men entered, and they looked dangerous and armed.

Clarisa was very confused. She leaned back to her husband and asked Adrian and Riley, "What is happening? If my husband doesn't know you, why did you claim it was the case?"

"Oh, we aren't necessarily acquainted, but by the look on his face, it's obvious that he knows me and my reason for being here," Adrian said while settling in front of the table.

The blonde woman walked calmly next to Adrian and took a seat. She said, "Mrs. Barlowe, you will want to hear this because we are here to give proof of your husband's affair."

"What?" Clarisa asked. Her face turned white, and her eyes rounded.

At first, William did not recognize him, but after looking back, he realized this was Claire's husband, Brian Martin.

"Your husband is still in a relationship with Claire, who I happened to have married!" Brian declared. He hastily took out his phone and showed Clarisa a video of his visit to Brian's home.

Clarisa watched part of the video and broke down; her frame retreated to the wall the second she saw William being intimate with Claire.

"Your husband did more than just have an affair; he also faked the paternity test to make it look like I am the father Claire was carrying!" Brian said. "William tried to pin his mistakes on me!"

"I don't know what you are talking about! That is fake!" William snapped.

"You have signed the documents for the paternity test at my hospital," Adrian's eyes landed on the documents on the table. He reminded, "Don't you remember going there for a blood donation? You also signed to have a paternity test with your mistress' child."

A smirk painted on Adrian's face while William's mind went back to that day. He muttered, "I signed up for a paternity test?"

It dawned on William how he had carelessly signed papers, thinking they were all for the blood donation, but he never read them all.

"You!" William screamed at Adrian. "You planned this all!"

"Of course I did," Adrian said curtly. "You were not only cheating on your wife, but you were using her money to fund your mistress' lifestyle. Aside from that, you fathered a child and wanted another man to take responsibility?"

"What did I do to you? Why are you doing this to me?" William yelled at Adrian.

"What did you do to me?" Adrian echoed. "Nothing. You just happened to be having an affair with the woman who had hurt my wife. You are a classic example of being with the wrong person at the wrong time."
