"Good morning," Adrian greeted Riley the second she woke up on a Sunday. He was smiling at her, and his eyes were sparkling.
"Good morning," she said back.
"Are my wife and baby hungry?" Adrian asked.
Riley pouted before caressing her stomach. She answered, "I think we are."
Adrian rolled off the bed and said, "Let me cook breakfast."
"Wait," Riley called. "Someone might see you walking."
Adrian chuckled. He responded, "I gave Max, Aunt Linda, and Rose a day off. Aunt Linda could also use some time to visit her relatives. She will be gone for a few days. Only the guards have reported for work but are at the gates."
He winked and added, "Grandpa will be on a firm watch."
When they reached the kitchen, Adrian moved seamlessly across the cooking space, taking out bread, eggs, vegetables, and condiments. But because Riley couldn't stand watching her husband do all the work, she offered to work on the smoothie, slicing her favorite fruits.
Using her phone, Riley played the song "Good Life" by OneRepublic as they prepared breakfast. The two sang along occasionally, both with smiles on their faces.
"Oh, this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life."
Riley took a spoonful of the smoothie and let Adrian try it. When he gave her a thumbs-up, she danced to the rest of the tune. Of course, she did not make it back to the blender without her husband spanking her ass.
"Naughty you!" Riley scolded, but she fought back and spanked his ass too!
"Huh!" She retorted. "I'm not the only one who has a great ass."
Adrian laughed. He teased, "You liked my ass, don't you, Hun?"
"I won't deny it. Thank god, it's mine," Riley said confidently.
Adrian finished an omelet packed with different kinds of vegetables and placed it on wheat bread to make a sandwich. After whipping up three sandwiches, he served them on the nook table and began digging in with his wife.
"Good morning, Grandpa! Let's have breakfast!" Riley greeted.
"Morning, Gramps." Adrian pointed to the plate at the other end of the nook table and said, "Your breakfast is ready."
The three ate happily, and while filling their stomachs, Adrian raised, "Hun, since the incident at the beach, I realized that some of our dates should just be here at home. Of course, we can still go out for dinners."
"Hun, anywhere is fine with me, and when we are out, I won't ask you to walk with me again until you are fully ready to announce it to the world," Riley answered.
"Thank you, Riley," Adrian said. "Tonight, I plan to celebrate your pregnancy with something special, and Grandpa will help me with the preparations."
Riley turned to Abner, wide-eyed. She asked, "Grandpa?"
Abner nodded and revealed, "I will be at your service tonight. My people had already delivered my upright piano late last night. I am all set."
"A piano?" Riley asked. "You play the piano, Grandpa?"
"Oh, my dear. I also sing," Abner declared. "If business had failed then, I would have still succeeded as a performer."
"I am excited to hear you play!" Riley exclaimed. "Tell me. What's the plan?"
Unfortunately, Riley did not get an answer. Adrian and Abner refused to share any details about that evening's affair. Still, she looked forward to it.

When evening came, Riley had changed into a pink formal dress. She had her favorite jewelry on and the bangle that matched Adrian's. She waited impatiently for the sign, and after some time, Adrian finally opened their bedroom door and said, "Let's go, Honey."
Riley glanced at Adrian, puzzled. Adrian stood up and offered his hand to her, saying, "Shall I have this dance?"
A gasp left her lips. She nearly cried because it was one of her wishes to dance with her husband. Riley took Adrian's hand quickly and said, "I'd love to."
"Oh, you will love this one," Abner claimed.
Abner's hands started gracefully on the piano, and then he sang, "Mmm. So, this is love. Mmm. So, this is love."
He was playing 'So This is Love' by Ilene Woods.
Riley was stunned because Abner's voice sounded just like those in the opera! With tears in her eyes, she said, "Your voice is so beautiful, Grandpa!"
Abner smiled at her. He continued, "My heart has wings, mmm. And I can fly."
Since the song was short, Abner played it as a piece of instrumental music alone in the next set. However, in the third round, he sang the words again, "Mmm. So, this is love."
It was perfect. Riley felt the romanticism in everything as she danced with her man. Having a family member serenade them added a special touch.
Out of nowhere, though, Abner suddenly changed the lyrics to the song, "Maybe one day, you'll give me twins, Mmm. I pray to the heavens above!"
Riley, "..."
"If not now, before I die, Mmm, I wish for three or four great-grandkids. This is the miracle that I've been dreaming of," Abner played the piano with the longest finale. In the end, he concluded, "Mmm. So, this is love."
The amazing part was how Abner's version matched the song's melody well!
"Wonderful rendition there, Grandpa," Adrian commented while laughing.
Abner also laughed. He said, "I'm glad you both liked it."
