Riley was in a private room after getting a thorough checkup from Zia. She had been silent the whole time, wondering why this had happened to her and who was responsible for it!

Seeing Zia was about to leave, Riley called, "Zia, please don't tell my Mom about this yet."

Zia looked at Adrian reluctantly, but eventually, she nodded, saying, "I understand, but tell her soon."

After Zia left, Adrian immediately got off his wheelchair and embraced Riley in bed. He pecked her forehead multiple times before he asked, "I am never leaving you in Halliport again. Never."

"I think that Fredrick and Tonet had something to do with this. After all, I had been investigating them thoroughly over these past few weeks," Adrian revealed. He tightened his hold around her and said, "I'm glad they failed to take you."

"And I'm glad I took measures and ensured you had enough protection. Still, that was close," Adrian said.

It took Riley a while for her emotions to settle down, but when they finally did, she asked her husband, "Why didn't you tell me I had security following me around? Were they pretending to be workers?"

"Yes, they were pretending to work for the mall," Adrian acknowledged. "Max told me it was always better if my enemies underestimated your protection. So, in their eyes, they only see Max, your driver, but in truth, you had well-trained security personnel watching over you the entire time."

Riley's shoulders fell. She said, "Thank you, Honey, for being two steps ahead. I truly appreciate their help earlier. I'd like to meet them."

Adrian said, "Chandler is an MMA fighter. He used to work for Clint's father as his security. He is already forty years old, but he is still good and very healthy."

"And these two are Joey and Ross," Adrian introduced.

Riley stilled at the mention of their names. She eyed Max, and the latter laughed his heart out. She asked, "Seriously?"
