"Yes, Kyle. Riley is safe. Thank goodness her bodyguards followed her around," Adrian said on the phone. "Thank you for helping clear a schedule at Braeton Airport."
In the evening, Adrian got a call from Kyle Wright. He and Gabrielle were very concerned about Riley.
Adrian had met up with little Kenneth and had lunch with the Wrigths when Adrian got the call from Clint's men about Riley's attempted kidnapping.
Kyle did everything he could to help Clint get a private transfer to Halliport.
"That's Good to know," Kyle responded on the phone. By the way, I reviewed the contract again, and it's strange how I found no flaw. So, I'm taking my chances with you, Mr. King. I'm choosing your company for our next Diamond Hotel construction."
It was a problematic day, but Adrian could not help but smile after hearing the news. He answered, "Kyle, thank you for your trust. I promise you that you won't regret it."
After talking to Kyle, Adrian stayed beside Riley on the bed. She had fallen asleep the moment they arrived an hour ago. He caressed her face and took a deep breath. Just the thought of his wife getting hurt sent shivers down his spine.
Adrian closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, he had that look of determination that said he would bring down whoever had ordered to pay those men.
He stepped away from the room and, using his wheelchair, made it to his study. From there, he called Clint on the phone. His assistant was still at the police station, trying to get information on the interrogation's progress. When Clint answered, Adrian asked, "Have they admitted who hired them?"
The man heard his assistant sigh. Clint replied, "Sadly, they are not speaking, Sir. The police are checking their homes and mobiles, trying to make a connection."
"Suggest to check their bank records," Adrian said.
"Yes, Sir. They are also working on that," Clint confirmed.
"Tell the police I will give them two days. I will be patient. However, if they still do not have the name after two days, we will take matters into our own hands," Adrian revealed.
"Not over?" Brian asked. "Why?"
"You don't want to get involved," Adrian replied.
"Riley is my concern," Brian said. "She is my—" He wavered and said, "I still care for Riley."
"Thank you for your concern, Brian," Riley interrupted. She got up from the sitting area and made her way behind Adrian. "We believe we are dealing with difficult people, and the last thing we need is to involve others who cannot protect themselves."
"But, now and then, you are free to ask Clint about the case's progress if you are that worried about me," Riley suggested.
Again, Brian hesitated, but he agreed, "Very well." Raising the folder to Adrian, he said, "Here."
