Next, the lady suddenly breathed against the diamond bangles and did this several times. Riley understood why. Fake diamonds fog, so this elegant woman tested the product.
"We have to be sure, you know," the woman said with a smile.
"Of course, feel free to test them," Riley said confidently.
"Even with a scratch test?" The woman asked, lifting what looked like a broken glass.
"My, you came prepared," Riley remarked.
"Of course," the woman said before attempting to scratch one bangle with the broken glass.
Diamonds happen to be the hardest known mineral on the planet. Anything with a hardness below that of a diamond cannot scratch a diamond. So, when the lady found no scratch on her diamonds, she smiled brightly and declared, "I'll take all of them."
She went around the store and also chose a few earrings and necklaces. Walking past the Oceanic Treasures Set, she exclaimed, "Oh, I want this for my daughter!"
"I want two sets with the earrings, necklace, and bracelet!" the lady requested. Standing before the Art Deco Glamour theme, she said, "Oh, this is nice. I love the big pendant—oh, you changed the pearls into beads of gold! Great idea! I want that one, this one in twenty-four inches."
The lady bought so much that Riley thought she would buy the whole store! Unfortunately, she didn't, but she bought more than enough to keep Riley's smile plastered for a month!
Once the pretty blonde lady was at the counter, she saw a set of diamond jewelry set aside. She studied it and said, "Oh, I guess I'll get this too."
The cashier looked at Riley helplessly. Riley approached the elegant lady and revealed, "I'm sorry, but this piece was reserved for one of my other clients. You are welcome to pre-order, and we can deliver it to your home."
"Yes, I know. Someone bought it." The lady chuckled. She removed her shades, revealed her striking blue eyes, and said, "It's for Gaby, right?"
"Mrs. Kentworthy, your total bill is four million, two hundred three thousand dollars," the cashier said with a big smile.
Kenzie leaned back in shock. Her eyes rounded as she asked, "What?"
Riley was utterly nervous that Kenzie thought her jewelry was too pricy, but much to her surprise, the Wright Heiress exclaimed, "Why are they so affordable!"
Relief washed over Riley, and she laughed. Adrian laughed with her too. He explained, "We have a 20% discount as our opening promo."
"20% off?" Kenzie covered her mouth with her hand and looked around with sparkling eyes. She said, "In that case."
In the end, Kenzie bought more, and Riley exceeded her sales target for the day.
