"I'm going to kill him," Adrian declared.
"Adrian? Brian is not worth our time," Riley scolded. She put her hands on her waist and suggested, "What would happen to our children if their father is locked up in jail for murder."
The two were discussing Brian's unexpected visit inside the store's mini-office. Clint was with them, listening to their discussion.
"Why would I go to prison?" Adrian turned to his assistant and suggested, "Clint will do it for me."
Hearing that, Clint choked on his spew. He coughed violently before proposing, "Ah, Mr. King, me? It doesn't have to be me. I know a guy who knows a guy that definitely knows someone who has connections with the mafia."
Riley narrowed her eyes at Clint before a laugh escaped her lips. She commented, "Clint is so funny."
"I did not think it was funny," Adrian said. "Big secrets should only be kept within people we trust. In any case, Brian needs to learn his lesson. He is going to ask about Adley for sure."
He instructed Clint, "Tell all employees not to give away our names—mine and Riley's. I want to tell him personally who owns Adley."
"You are going to speak to him?" Riley asked.
"One day." Adrian clenched his jaws and suggested, "In any case, it's been long overdue."
"For now." Adrian held Riley's hand and announced, "Let's celebrate. The Star Mall owner has agreed to our renovation proposal. We have our first big project under my name as the stand-in CEO of The King's Enterprises."
Riley beamed. She said, "From one achievement to another." She sat on his lap and kissed him. "Congratulations, Hun. You deserve it."
Clint cleared his throat and stated, "I don't know if I will ever get used to seeing my bosses being affectionate. My poor single heart."
Her dark shades concealed her eyes, adding an air of mystery to her appearance. A designer handbag with a recognizable logo hung elegantly from her arm, and a delicate diamond bracelet sparkled on her wrist, hinting at her opulent lifestyle.
Riley's head was screaming more sales, so she eagerly approached the customer and said, "Miss, feel free to try the jewelry."
"Yes, I - " The woman gasped, seeing several bangles in the diamond section of the store. "Diamonds and bangles! Oh, my, what a buffet!"
She pointed to the ones she liked, saying, "I want this and this and that in eighteen cm."
A sales lady helped Riley prepare all the bags in her size, and the lady put all of them on.
"Gorgeous!" The lady raised her arm and said, "A beautiful reflection of light."
