Divorced the Cheat Married the Fleet (Camilla and Lance) novel Chapter 326

The internet was exploding all over again.

The focus had shifted from criticizing Camilla to obsessing over what was really going on between her and Lance. Lance himself started replying to a bunch of comments online, acting so out of character that people began to wonder if it was even the real him behind the screen.

Someone straight-up asked if he and Camilla were dating.

He replied, “I’m chasing after her, but I haven’t caught her yet. What’s our status? I guess you could call it her keeping me. Yeah, she’s the one supporting me, I live at her place.”

Then someone else asked if this was really Lance.

He commented back, “Send me your address, let’s meet up and you can see for yourself.”

The way he was interacting, it honestly felt like a fake account.

Camilla didn’t even realize Lance had set the internet on fire until she went down to the parking garage. She called him and told him to chill out, but this time, Lance was completely stubborn about it, saying he just couldn’t stand seeing Barnard try to get close.

All these comments from Lance were now on Sarah’s screen. She stared at the words until her eyes started to sting, almost able to imagine the look Lance must have had while he was typing them. He’d always been so warm and gentle, never guarded. Now, he just seemed kind of flustered. She forced a tiny smile and turned to Camilla. “Looks like I was just imagining things. I didn’t know Lance trusted you so much, Camilla.”

Sarah tried to sound casual, but Camilla could still pick up the hint of disappointment in her voice.

Even after Sarah had brought her so-called boyfriend around to Camilla, Camilla hadn’t completely let down her guard.

Camilla replied, “Sarah, trust is the most important thing in any relationship. If he trusts me, then I’ll trust him, too. You really don’t have to worry about us.”

Sarah pressed her lips together, watching Camilla walk past her into the company building. She bit her lip so hard it started to bleed, but she didn’t even seem to feel it. Her eyes stayed fixed on Camilla for a long time.

She just didn’t get it. She’d spent almost twenty years trying to be the one for Lance, and she never succeeded. But somehow, Camilla, a woman who’d already been married and had a kid, managed to become so important to him. He was even willing to make himself look bad, just so she’d look good.

Sarah stood there, stuck in place, lost in her own world until Tessa called and snapped her back to reality. But the look in Sarah’s eyes stayed twisted and unsettled.
