Divorced the Cheat Married the Fleet (Camilla and Lance) novel Chapter 341

There was no way Davina could agree to what these people wanted. But her aunt was dead set on getting the money. She took the lead, coming at Davina to search her for her phone, all while insisting that Davina hurry up and get Laura out so they could get the cash.

Davina wouldn’t do it—she couldn’t, and she was scared out of her mind.

Everyone was pulling and shouting, and in the chaos, Davina’s phone flew from her hand. The next second, her frantic relatives stomped all over it, smashing the screen into pieces. It was completely done for.

The noise was so loud that Laura came rushing out to see what was going on.

Laura never had much patience for Davina, but Davina was part of the Carter family now. Laura was more worried something might have happened to her. She hurried outside, followed by a bunch of security guards and the household staff, hoping to calm things down.

But Laura had clearly underestimated how shameless the Blair family could be.

She had barely stepped outside before they all swarmed around her, poking and yelling and demanding money.

In the end, it turned almost violent, with household staff fighting to hold back the mob. Only then were Laura and Davina able to break free and rush back inside.

Laura had spent so many years living a sheltered, pampered life with Calvin. She’d never seen anything like this before. When she got home, she fell apart completely. Crying uncontrollably, she grabbed her phone and called Calvin.

Davina was in just as bad a state. Tears kept falling even as she tried to hold them back. She was terrified and shaken and blamed Carmen and her family for dragging her into this mess, but there was nothing she could do.

About an hour later, Barnard and Calvin finally came home.

The first thing they saw when they walked through the door was Laura and Davina on opposite ends of the couch, both crying, eyes red and faces wet with tears.

But Davina looked far worse than Laura.

Her hair was a tangle, her face covered with scratches, the sleeve of her shirt missing a couple of buttons. She hadn’t had a chance to change her clothes.

When she saw the two men, Davina jumped up and hurried to Barnard, grabbing for him. “Barnard, please, help me. Those people… they’re out of their minds. They just want to squeeze money out of us.”

Barnard’s frown only deepened.

To him, Davina’s tearful story sounded hopelessly clueless. The whole thing had been an obvious shakedown from the very start, but Davina was only now realizing it.

Laura just glared at Davina from the couch, looking tired and bitter but not saying anything.

Calvin, on the other hand, sounded impatient as he asked, “What’s really happening? It’s been two days. Why are they still here? They’ve been camped outside for two days—so why do they still look so energetic?”
