Divorced the Cheat Married the Fleet (Camilla and Lance) novel Chapter 346

Shirley was startled by how impulsive Davina was being. “Davina, what is it now?” she asked, frowning in confusion.

Honestly, she couldn’t help but wonder if Davina was running on adrenaline or pure chaos. Did this woman ever think before acting? Everything she did seemed fueled by emotion, zero logic.

Davina took a breath. “I’m not going after Barnard. I’m going to find Camilla, alright? My money is not just going to end up with her for no reason. I want it back.”

Shirley wasn’t sure what money Davina meant, but she knew now wasn’t the time for things to get messy. She still needed Davina for her own plans, so she tried to keep her cool.

“Davina, what money are you talking about? Maybe I can help figure something out. Barnard and Camilla are divorced, sure, but there’s nothing stopping them from seeing each other. If you barge in like this, you’ll just look unreasonable. I think we need to slow down and think through our options.”

Shirley’s gentle tone seemed to get through to Davina, who slowly dropped her guard. Suddenly, she let all her worries spill out. She explained everything, from the contract with the Carter family and Camilla to how Barnard had taken her money and left.

After she finished, she looked at Shirley expectantly. “You’re always full of ideas. Please, help me out. How can I get my money back?”

For a moment, Shirley just stared. The more she heard, the more she couldn’t believe Barnard could be this shameless. He actually took money from his new girlfriend to try and win back his ex? Did his money just circulate between women?

Setting aside her own (not so flattering) thoughts about Barnard, Shirley realized this was getting complicated. When it came to money and contracts, she definitely didn’t want to get involved. Quickly, she shifted gears.

“Davina, honestly, charging over to demand your money right now isn’t going to work. We can’t prove Barnard gave her anything. Unless Camilla admits it herself, you’re not getting that money back. Plus, if you make a scene, word will spread. If Barnard hears about it and thinks you’re being difficult, it’ll just cause more drama.”

Davina hesitated. “So… you’re saying I should just let it go?” The more she thought about it, the less sure she felt.
