Divorced the Cheat Married the Fleet (Camilla and Lance) novel Chapter 483

Davina was bailed out of the police station by Clement's men.

In Clement's words, Barnard had shown him loyalty, so he couldn't just leave Barnard's woman sitting in a cell.

Davina had been staying at the hospital with Barnard lately, and she had seen plenty of Clement's subordinates coming to visit.

With so many people around, someone was bound to slip up. Secrets couldn't be kept forever. Davina had completely figured it out now: before Barnard was injured, he had actually locked Camilla in a hotel room.

The day she found out, she broke down completely. Without caring that the men from The Williams Group were present, she stormed into the hospital room and threw a massive fit, making Barnard lose face in front of his colleagues.

Now, Davina was overly paranoid. Whenever Barnard even picked up his phone, she suspected he was contacting Camilla.

Barnard was getting incredibly annoyed by Davina's constant nagging. Just looking at her gave him a headache, and his long-suppressed anger was bubbling to the surface. "Haven't you thrown enough tantrums? What exactly do you want?"

"What do I want? Barnard, how can you say that to me? Do you think it was easy for me to follow you to this unfamiliar place? You said you cared about me the most, but then you reached out to Camilla behind my back. I'm just scared and worried, is that a crime?" Davina cried, her voice full of grievance.

As she spoke, tears began to stream down her face. "You promised you would treat me well, but instead, you dragged me away from my home. You still can't forget Camilla, and now you're yelling at me. Barnard, you're crossing the line."

Her tone was clingy, carrying a hint of a whine as she tried to make him soften toward her. But to Barnard, her words only made his headache worse.

"You actually have the nerve to cry?" Barnard snapped. "If you had listened to me and stopped provoking Camilla time and time again, the Carter family wouldn't be in this mess. We wouldn't have ended up here, and my father wouldn't be dead. Davina, my patience is wearing thin. Even if you want to throw a fit, you need to know when to stop."

Barnard had never settled these scores with her before. Even when he was occasionally annoyed, he had never blamed everything entirely on her like this.

Davina froze, stunned by his outburst. She even forgot to wipe her tears.

"I can continue to fund your extravagant lifestyle," Barnard went on coldly. "I won't let you lack for anything materially, on the condition that you behave yourself and stop prying into my business."

"What do you mean by that? Barnard, do you still want to go back to Camilla? How can you treat me like this? We're already married, how could you..."
