Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1495

"Indifferent?"

Harold stood right where he was, his posture relaxing slightly as a helpless chuckle escaped his throat. He spoke slowly, "Father, I'm madly in love with her."

Faulkner's eyes widened, staring at his son in pure disbelief.

An indiscernible amount of time passed.

Harold and Faulkner finally emerged from the study, one after the other.

Faulkner gave Lorelei a long, meaningful look before saying gently, "The family's legal team will handle the mess with the Vaughns. You've had quite a shock; just focus on resting for the next few days."

"I will."

Lorelei nodded. She wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but her father-in-law's attitude toward her seemed remarkably softer.

"We still need to go see Eleanor," Harold said, stepping forward and naturally slipping an arm around Lorelei's waist. "We won't be staying for dinner tonight."

"Alright."

Faulkner nodded, watching them leave.

"What did you say to Harold?" Noemi asked anxiously.

"I told them to get a divorce," Faulkner replied. "But the kid said no. He said he loves his wife."

"Ah—"

Noemi let out a squeal, almost losing her footing. "Harold said he likes Lori? Wasn't the rumor that he already had someone else in his heart?"

"If I'm not mistaken, the woman in his heart *is* Lorelei."

"Then why didn't he ever say anything?" Noemi clutched her chest, trying to steady her racing heart. "I always assumed he was pining over someone else entirely."

"Hmph."

Faulkner clasped his hands behind his back and remarked dryly, "The boy doesn't know how to communicate."

Leaving the Houston estate.

The couple headed toward the Bellamy family residence.

Knowing Harold was coming, Lexi had spent hours meticulously dolling herself up.
