Ever since Josie humiliated her in public for the second time, June had stayed locked away. She’d been training like a maniac, obsessively grinding her powers to the limit.
She swore she’d hit Tier–3. She’d get her revenge on Josie if it was the last thing she did.
The rest of the base felt the same way.
Josie had really gotten under their skin.
They finally saw the truth: the gap between power levels was freaking massive.
A single rank was the difference between being a god and being trash. It was a total curb–stomp.
A hundred Supers had gone up against Josie, and not one of them had even landed a scratch. She’d wiped the floor with them.
Didn’t they have any pride?
Nobody wanted to be humiliated like that in front of a crowd over and over again.
Five days later.
June finally broke through. She hit Rank–3 in her Plant Manipulation.
The day she leveled up, the entire base went wild.
They even threw a massive party for her, honoring her as the first Rank–3 Plant–type Super in the settlement.
A few others had managed to hit Rank–3 as well, but they didn’t get nearly as much clout as June. They were basically just background noise, riding her coattails at her own celebration.
June knew exactly how to play people. She had that “humble” act down to a science. Every time she ran into someone, she’d feed them the same line.
“Everyone was just being kind,” June would say with a modest smile. “They gave me way too much credit by saying the party was just for me. Believe me, I know the truth.”
It didn’t really matter if people bought her act or not. Her attitude alone was enough to soothe the egos of the other Tier–3 Supers.
They all thought she was so grounded. So respectful.
Naturally, her popularity skyrocketed.
With the level–ups out of the way, the mission to the Agri–Science Institute was officially back on the books.
This time, they were locked and loaded.
It wasn’t just a squad of Supers anymore; they were bringing the military and some serious heavy weaponry.
No more playing it safe or acting like rookies. They weren’t just driving out with supplies like sitting ducks.
If those raiders tried to jump them again, they wouldn’t waste time talking. They’d just open fire and mow them down.
The base was getting desperate. In recent weeks, the mutated animals and plants were growing at an insane rate, and they’d already launched three major attacks on the walls.
Leadership was terrified the defenses wouldn’t hold. They kept breathing down the Supers‘ necks, riding them to get those pesticides

back ASAP.
So, once again, both groups happened to head out for the Agri–Science Institute at the exact same time.
But this time, Josie was rolling solo.
The base, however, had mobilized a massive convoy of at least five hundred people.
It was a hell of a show.
And this time, the base’s team was the first to run into the Mutant Locust Tree.
By the time Josie arrived, the base crew was already throwing down with the thing.
From a distance, it looked like a damn light show. Elemental powers were flying everywhere–flashes of fire and ice lighting up the sky in a chaotic, neon mess.
The problem was, there was no real command. It was every man for himself. Total chaos, zero teamwork.
