“Enough!” Lily screamed. “Josie, stop acting like a psycho! I don’t care if you’re a Rank–4 Grand Super, you don’t get to bully people in our sanctuary!”
“Get it through your head–Cyrus has joined us. He’s part of this base now!”
“We’ve got a Tier–4 Super on our side now! We’re not scared of you!”
Josie let out another sharp, bitter laugh. “Cyrus, do you seriously think hitting Tier–5 makes you untouchable? You think I can’t handle you?”
“Others might be blind, but I know the truth. A Tier–5 Alpha Undead looks human on the outside, sure, but there’s always a
chest.” fist–sized scar right over the heart. You want to prove me wrong? Strip. Let everyone see your
Cyrus looked at her with a look of mock horror. “That’s a pretty bold request. How are you not embarrassed to even say I know, you’re the Undead here! You want a show? Fine, everyone strips together!”
“You go first, then I will!”
Josie rolled her eyes, her temper hitting the ceiling. “In your dreams, asshole!”
The words hadn’t even finished hanging in the air.
that? For all
Josie lunged. It was a lightning–fast sneak attack, her hand clawing for his collar, aiming to rip the fabric right off his chest.
Cyrus didn’t even look stressed. He drifted backward like a ghost, gliding several meters away and leaving Josie clutching at empty
air.
The rest of the base members glared at her, their faces twisted with rage. “That’s enough, Josie! Don’t push your luck. You think we’re just going to stand here and let you bully our people?”
Josie gritted her teeth, her voice tight with desperation. “He’s a freaking Undead! I fought him at the airport–countless people saw it! If you don’t believe me, ask the Blue Owl Squad!”
Zane stepped forward and nodded. “She’s right. I’m a witness. He’s an Undead, and his level is off the charts. You guys aren’t even in his league.”
“You think he’s human? Bringing him back to your base is like letting a wolf into a sheep pen. None of you will get out alive.” “Yeah, right,” Lily snapped, rolling her eyes. “You guys are all on the same team. Of course you’re going to back Josie up.” “We aren’t falling for your little mind games.”
Josie was speechless. “Look, even if you don’t believe me, at least give him a full physical. Run an ultrasound or something! His internal anatomy is completely different from ours!”
“The more you talk, the more I know he’s clean,” Lily shot back, her stubborn streak hitting full gear. “I’m not checking anything. Deal with it!”
“Fine. Whatever. It’s your base, I’m done trying to help,” Josie said, rolling her eyes right back at her. “Die for all I care.”
“Let’s go. Grab the supplies, split the loot, and move out!” Josie’s patience had officially hit zero. “And don’t come crying to me when things go south!”
She turned her back on them and started packing the gear, completely ignoring them now.
She’d given her warning. If they wanted to be stupid, that was on them.
The members of the Blue Owl Squad cast pitying looks at the sanctuary Supers. They just shook their heads and followed Josie. These guys were really in for it.
Bringing a Tier–5 Alpha Undead back to their base? That wasn’t just a mistake–it was a total wipeout waiting to happen.
