Chapter 301

After leaving the others, Cyrus headed straight for the roof of a skyscraper.

He manifested a chair out of thin air, sat back, and fixed his gaze on the road Josie’s team was taking.

He wondered if Josie would like the little gift he’d left her.

Josielet’s see who gets to the prize first.

Are you going to snatch it from me, or am I going to beat you to the punch?

If he got his hands on those nukes, becoming the Undead King would be a walk in the park.

What’s your move going to be, Josie?

To make sure you level up fast, I’ll spawn waves of highrank undead just for you to devour.

I’m waiting for you to get strong.

Josie and the crew were done resting. Finally, they hit the road again, heading straight for Newport City.

The rest of the drive was much smoother.

Maybe it was because all the Undead had been herded toward the tunnel, but the roads outside were mostly clear.

To keep any more idiots from jumping them, Josie let her Tier6 aura flare. she let that raw pressure bleed out, a warning to anything watching.

It worked like a charm.

Tier3 and Tier4 Undead actually had half a brain. They could feel the threat. They weren’t about to pick a fight they couldn’t win.

Sure, a Super tasted like a fivestar meal, but you had to be alive to eat it.

It’s like hunting a grizzly with a pocketknifeeveryone wants the trophy, but nobody wants to get mauled.

Only the brainless Tierls and 2s would charge in blindly.

But even they felt the instinctual terror of a Grand Super’s aura. They stayed far, far away.

Just like that, they made it. Two days later, the skyline of Newport City finally appeared on the horizon.

There it is! Newport City!Hudson shouted, looking energized. We finally made it!

Hold on.Josie cut him off, her eyes narrowing as she scanned the ruins. Do you guys feel that? Something’s wrong here.

The words had barely left her mouth when a cold voice barked from behind them, Freeze! Hands in the air!

Josie complied, slowly raising her hands before turning around to face the speaker.

A man in his early thirties was staring her down. He looked grim, and his eyes were anything but friendly.

Outsiders? Where are you from? What’s your business here?

Yeah, we’re from out of town. Just looking for someone,Josie answered. You’re with the Newport City Survivor Base, right? I was hoping to ask about¬

He didn’t let her finish. He jerked his weapon, aiming it right at her. I said don’t move! One more twitch a

Alright, alright. I’m staying put,Josie said calmly. I’m not looking for a handout. I’ve got supplies to trade for info. Food, meds,

gear you name it.“.

You’re really just here to find someone? The man’s expression softened the second he heard the word supplies.

Of course,Josie said, tilting her head. What else would we be here for?

I thought you guys wereBefore he could finish, a deeper, more authoritative voice cut him off from the side. Gene, shut your mouth!

Josie glanced over. A man in his late forties was walking toward them.

They looked roughtheir clothes were nothing but tattered rags.

It was obvious. Life in this place was hell.

It was worse than she thought. Way worse.

Which meant the undead numbers here had to be insane. They were likely swarming every corner, leaving the humans with zero

breathing room.

Could she really find him in a hellhole like this?

No. She would find him.

Cyrus found Sean in her past life. She could do it in this one.
