Chapter 367.

The members of the Blue Owl Squad struggled to stand, desperate to take the hit for Josie.

Josie Quinn shook her head at them.

They had already done their best. Not a single one of them had the strength left to stand. There was no need for further pointless sacrifice.

While June Quinn’s strike was vicious, it wasn’t enough to kill Josie. But if it hit any of the others, they’d be dead for sure.

So, Josie decided to tank the hit.

The moment June launched the attack, her eyes were filled with a predatory, triumphant glee. Even if she didn’t kill Josie today, this strike would shatter her foundation, ensuring Josie would never surpass her again.

She would keep Josie beneath her heel forever! She would finally wash away her past humiliations!

Just as the massive water bullet was about to slam into Josie, a gargantuan root suddenly erupted from the earth.

It intercepted the impact with absolute stability.

In the blink of an eye, a towering, ancient tree manifested between Josie and June. Like a colossal beast, it shielded Josie behind its massive trunk.

Josie blinked in shock.

For a moment, she didn’t even recognize the tree as her own Lirio.

“Master!” Lirio’s voice rang out inside Josie’s mind. “How did you let yourself get bullied like this? If I hadn’t made it back in time, you’d be toast!”

The cocky, annoying tone was unmistakable. It was definitely Lirio.

Josie didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Fine, fine. It’s good that you’re back. Did you rank up?”

“Yeah! I’m Mid-Rank High-Phase now! I can protect Master from now on!” Lirio’s branches waved excitedly.

“Good. I’m counting on you!” Josie retracted her Metallic Shield and focused entirely on healing Hudson.

With Lirio there, she could afford to ignore the battlefield for a while.

“Your tree?” Cyrus Finch’s eyes narrowed as he looked at Lirio. He was clearly taken aback. “It grew this fast?”

“What!” Unlike Cyrus’s calm composure, June was losing her mind. “Where the hell did this tree come from?! Dammit! Dammit!”

She unleashed a barrage of water missiles at Lirio.

Every single one was effortlessly blocked.

Before the evolution, Lirio could already handle Tier-4 and Tier-5 Undead and humans. Now that it had ranked up, dealing with a Tier-6 Super was easy.

Josie usually didn’t let Lirio fight because she wanted to push her own limits and train herself. But that didn’t mean Lirio lacked combat

power.

Quite the opposite.

Lirio was one of Josie’s ultimate trump cards, something she rarely revealed. Now was the time to use it.

Mertu

Seeing that her attacks were useless against the tree, June let out a frustrated scream. “Josie Quinn! If you have the guts, stop hiding behind a tree and come out and fight me one-on-one!”

“Idiot,” Josie muttered. She ignored her sister entirely.

She focused all her energy on healing the others. After two intense rounds of treatment, Hudson, who had been on the brink of death, was finally pulled back from the void. The ghostly pallor of his face was replaced by a faint hint of color.

Josie stopped the treatment, pulled several vials of nutrient solution from her space, and handed them to the others. “Inject him!”

“Yes, ma’am!”

Josie immediately turned to the next critically injured teammate. With Lirio standing guard, she could focus solely on saving her

people.

Lirio’s return couldn’t have been more perfectly timed.

Enough! Cyrus called out to June.

He could see the writing on the wall. They weren’t getting those nuclear warheads from Josie today.

This tree was Josie’s contracted plant. As long as the tree lived, Josie wouldn’t die. And killing a Advanced Primal species nearing the

high-rank threshold was an incredibly difficult task.

Lirio was at the very top of the food chain. Both Undead and humans were nothing more than fertilizer to it.
