Chapter 369.

The others nodded in agreement. They felt the same way. Now that the mission in Newport City was complete, there was no point in wasting any more time in this place.

Ignoring their injuries, the group hurried back to the Newport City Sanctuary. They didn’t truly breathe a sigh of relief until they saw Sean Voss waiting safely at their stronghold. They had been terrified that Cyrus Finch would discover Sean’s existence and wipe him out while they were away.

Fortunately, it hadn’t happened.

For now, Cyrus was only obsessed with the nukes, not the man who knew how to build them.

When the team members at the stronghold saw Josie Quinn and the squad return in such a battered, bloody state, they were shocked. “What happened? How did you end up like this?”

Josie waved them off. “Don’t ask. Cyrus Finch set a trap for us. But at least the outcome was good. We all made it back alive!”

“Living is what matters!” others said as they rushed to help the wounded men. “Get some rest, quickly.”

“I’m going to heal my injuries. You all should rest, too!” After saying that, Josie turned and retreated to her room.

The moment the door closed, Josie collapsed onto the floor, gasping for air. It had taken every ounce of her willpower just to make it back. Her depletion from this battle was staggering. The repeated injuries were a major problem.

Today, Josie had drained herself to the bone. She needed to focus on recovery. She had planned to leave with Sean Voss immediately, but looking at the team’s condition, that wasn’t realistic. They needed their strength for whatever accidents might happen on the road.

Elsewhere, Cyrus Finch and June Quinn had returned to their own quarters. June was still seething, her face twisted with resentment. “Are we really just giving up after all that trouble?”

“Do you have a better idea?” Cyrus asked coolly.

“Josie is severely injured. She definitely doesn’t have the strength to fight right now,” June hissed, gritting her teeth. “We should take this chance to storm the Sanctuary and kill her!”

“Heh.” Cyrus gave her a cold, mocking sneer. “You think you can kill Josie Quinn? Setting everything else aside, you’re no match for that tree. As long as Lirio is there, Josie won’t die.”

June’s voice rose an octave. “So we just let it go? All that work for nothing?”

“It wasn’t for nothing,” Cyrus said. “At least now we know the goods are in Josie’s hands. As long as we keep a close eye on her, we can
