Chapter 378.

crisis.

When it came to the affairs of Fork City Base, Josie had taimed she wouldn’t help, but she had done plenty. She was the one who solved their previo

Sure, she had demanded supplies in exchange, but wasn’t that only fair?

Josie didn’t even lack supplies; she had helped them for the shared destiny of humanity. For the base to not only be ungrateful but to dump trash on name… it was enough to turn anyone’s heart to ice.

Josie entered the meeting room, took her seat, and said, “Call everyone in. We’re having a meeting.”

Since Quinshaw Base had few members, everyone attended.

The Dean of the Agri-Science Institute didn’t even have time to properly reunite with his son, Sean Vors, before heading into the room. Sean was clearly emotional seeing his father, but he restrained himself, silently sitting to the side and waiting for the meeting to start. They were used to being separated; they knew that major matters took priority over family reunions.

Josie began, “While I was away, you all worked hard to keep this home running.”

“I know I’m not a perfect leader. I have a lot of flaws.”

“I’ve never led a team before, so I’m not the best at management.”

“But I, Josie Quinn, can look any of you in the eye and say I have a clear conscience regarding everything I’ve done.”

“If any of you feel like our personalities don’t mesh, or if you don’t agree with my philosophy-if you want to leave for a larger base-I won’t stop you “We can part on good terms.”

As the words fell, the room plunged into a deathly silence.

After a long moment, the Dean cleared his throat. “I’m the oldest here, so I’ll pull rank and say a few words first.*

Josie nodded.

“I might run the Agri-Science Institute, but at my core, I’m a man who hates being restricted,” the Dean said.

“During my time at Quinshaw Base, I’ve been very happy.”

“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your management. If I had to find a fault, it’s that it’s almost too warm and harmonious here.”

“Small groups are managed one way; large bases are managed another.”

“Right now, Quinshaw Base only has about two hundred people.”

“We are a small team.”

“Naturally, we shouldn’t use the rigid, bureaucratic methods of a massive base. I don’t see anything wrong with how things are doue here.

T “If you want my opinion, I’m staying with Chief Quinn. If you leave, I leave. If you stay, I stay!*

His statement prompted others to speak up.

Zane also spoke. “I feel the same way. I know exactly what kind of person you are, Josie. We’ve depended on and trusted each other all this time. Howe could a few lies from outsiders drive us apart?”

“Besides, those accusations are ridiculous! 4’s clear the base was doing those experiments themselves and decided to frame you. The goal is sumple: they want to turn humanity against you and force you to use the nuclear weapons.”

“That is Cyrus Finch’s true objective!”

“Under the blast of 3 nuke, all lives are not equal. Humans will die, but the Undead and Mutants will undergo massive evolutions
