Doomsday Revenge: Payback Time (Josie) novel Chapter 406

< Chapter 406

Chapter 406.

This time, Josie didn’t use any of herother powers. She used only her Plant-type Superpower. Since this was a battle between plants, she would settle it the way plants did. If she was going to fight, she was going to make sure the opponent was fully convinced of her power.

Why didn’t she just kill the Creeper? There was no point. If she killed one Creeper, ten more would rise to take its place. This city was now ruled by plants in the truest sense; it didn’t matter which plant held the title. Josie just wanted to leave Quartz City without any unnecessary complications.

Ironically, this decision would end up buying her time and delaying those who were following her later on.

Josie continued forward, clearing every obstacle in her path. Her dominant Plant-type Superpower was something even the local Mutant Flora couldn’t withstand; they retreated one after another, forced to yield a wide path for her to pass.

She moved steadily until she stood before a colossal Creeper.

Josie looked up. How big was it? It had completely engulfed and coiled around a thirty-six-story skyscraper. That was its scale.

“I don’t like wasting words, and I assume you don’t either,” Josie said to the Creeper. “So, one move to decide the winner.”

The Creeper’s body writhed and shifted, shrinking down further and further until it was only three stories tall. Only then did it “look” at Josie. Even though plants didn’t have eyes, Josie, as a Tier-6 Plant-type Superpower user, could keenly feel its gaze.

Josie raised both hands, and the cactus behind her compressed itself to match the Creeper’s height. With a push of her palms, countless cactus spikes shot out like a torrential downpour, screaming through the air toward the Creeper.

The Creeper reacted instantly. Before the spikes could reach it, it shifted into a defensive posture. Countless leaves fanned out, overlapping like thousands of tiny shields to meet the assault.

Thud! Thud! Thud!*

A rain of needles pierced through the leaf shields, striking toward the Creeper’s main body.

The Creeper, which had been arrogant until now, finally cast aside its contempt. It recognized Josie as an equal-a true enemy. It didn’t dare hold back anymore, instantly contracting its body until it was the size of a normal, small vine, roughly three or four meters long.

By doing this, it not only reduced its target area but also became significantly more agile. Once the needle barrage ended, it immediately launched a counterattack.

It assumed Josie only had plant powers. It was wrong. Dead wrong.

Josie extended her right hand and pulled her Greatsword from her spatial storage. The moment the Creeper attacked, she lunged forward, swinging the massive blade.

*Clang! Clang Clang! Clang!*
