Chapter 407
Chapter 407.
Ashamed, the Creeper used its few remaining leaves to cover its exposed roots. It couldn’t speak yet, but if it could, it would likely be cursing Josie Quinn out with every foul word in existence.
Josie retracted her Greatsword into her spatial storage and attempted to link with the Creeper using her brainwaves. To her surprise, the connection was successful.
A petulant, teenage boy’s voice immediately echoed in her mind. “What? What do you want? Are you human going to use your language to insult me? Let me tell you, I wasn’t even using my full strength just now!”*
Josie replied, “You’re overthinking it. I just want to tell you that we have no interest in Quartz City’s affairs. We only want to pass through.**
*”But you took my food!”* the Creeper snapped, its mental voice full of resentment. *”That woman-I’ve been raising her as food for a long time!**
Josie tilted her chin up arrogantly. *”And? What of it?”*
*You… you’re unreasonable!”* The Creeper trembled with rage.
“Winners are kings. The loser has no right to make demands.” As the words left Josie’s mouth, she raised her hands slightly. Behind her, the Bladestorm Array instantly snapped into formation.
This time, the array was magnificent and imposing. Dense clusters of tiny golden swords and silver knives radiated a bone-chilling killing intent. The threat was unmistakable.

anger, instantly calmed down.
As soon as Josie revealed this lethal move, the Creeper, which had been shaking **Look at you! I was just talking-why are you getting so angry? Women really are the most unpredictable species in the world,” the Creeper said, its mental tone suddenly pleasant and accommodating. *”I didn’t say anything else, did I? I was just complaining. You beat me into this state; can’t I at least grumble a little?”*
The Bladestorm Array behind Josie vanished in an instant. The Creeper visibly relaxed.
*”Fine, fine, fine. I admit you’re strong, alright?” the Creeper said dejectedly. “You can pass.”
Josie nodded. “It won’t be long before other people pass through this city. If you encounter a woman who looks somewhat like me, you have my permission to beat her as much as you want.”
*”Why?” the Creeper asked. “Do you have a grudge against her?”
“Something like that.” Josie pulled a pile of Undead corpses from her space and tossed them to the Creeper. “This is your payment.”
The Creeper wasn’t polite at all. It lunged forward immediately, its roots sinking deep into the Undead remains. Moments later, countless fresh, green leaves sprouted across its vines. It finally looked like less of an eyesore.
**Deal!”* the Creeper’s excited voice rang in Josie’s mind. “”I take back what I said earlier-you’re a good woman!TM*
“Hahahaha!” Josie let out a loud laugh. “Remember: stop them for me. Stop them ruthlessly!”
