Well, you couldn’t say nobody used them.
Guns were useless against high–level Undead, but they still worked damn well on Norms.
“Finally, some peace and quiet,” Josie said, stashing her weapon. She was satisfied and ready to call it a night.
Winnie looked at the bodies littering the floor. Shaking, she started to clean up the mess.
Josie pulled a bucket of water out of her storage space. “Here. Scrub it clean.”
Yes! Of course! I’ll make it spotless!” Winnie froze for a split second before her eyes lit up with pure joy. She lunged for the bucket, grabbing it immediately.
She was smart. She didn’t ask where the weapons had gone or where the hell a whole bucket of water had come from.
Rule number one: never pry into a powerhouse’s secrets.
Josie smirked.
She liked that Winnie knew her place.
She hated idiots.
Luckily, Winnie was sharp.
Winnie was fast, too.
it didn’t take long before she had the place completely clean.
Not a single trace of blood remained.
By now, it was the middle of the night.
osie was wiped. “Alright, let’s crash,” she said. “No one’s going to bother us now.”
You got it, Boss!” Winnie chirped, her voice dripping with eagerness. “I won’t make a peep, I promise!”
But the second the words left her mouth, her stomach ler out a massive, long growl.
n the dead silence of the night, it sounded like a chainsaw.
Vinnie immediately clutched her gut, her face turning bright red. “Sorry,” she whispered awkwardly. “I haven’t eaten all day.”
osie reached into her storage space, pulled out a loaf of bread and a bottle of water, and tossed them to her. “Go eat in the other room.”
Yes, ma’am! I promise you won’t smell a thing!” Winnie was over the moon. She grabbed the food like it was made of gold and practically skipped into he next room, nearly tripping over her own feet in her excitement.
Watching Winnie’s retreating back, Josie couldn’t help but let out a dry smirk.
t must be nice.
To still be able to feel that kind of simple joy.
She couldn’t even remember the last time she’d felt anything like it.
Must be nice.
osie shook the thought off as quickly as it came and settled in. It was time to get some actual sleep.
In the next room, Winnie wolfed down the bread and chugged the clean water, her brain working overtime.
How was she going to prove her worth?
Even the best chef can’t make a feast out of thin air.
She wanted to show off her cooking skills, but she had nothing to work with.
This was a problem. A big one.
And just like that, the night passed without a single incident.

Downstairs was dead silent.
The few survivors left didn’t even dare to breathe too loud. They were terrified of crossing the Valkyrie.
That gang had been fifty guys strong!
Not a single one of them had made it back down.
Every last one of them was undead food now.
Anyone with half a brain knew exactly where the line was–and they weren’t about to cross it.
Josie woke up feeling like a million bucks.
She did a quick wash, pulled a hot, steaming breakfast out of her storage space, and dug in.
