There was something fierce and commanding about him, the kind of presence only a former special forces captain could have. “Relax. He can’t touch me. Those so-called mercenaries? They’re just a bunch of amateurs in my book.”

Even with his confidence, Emmy couldn’t quite put her worries to rest. “But… Mr. Nelson came all the way to the capital. He’s not here by accident.
