Emmy got it. Jamie. Jamie. The person who meant more to James than anyone else. The reason he’d been carrying all that pain for so many years.
After a sharp turn, the car slowed down. Up ahead, a tall black iron gate loomed out of the darkness. It was locked tight and looked strangely out of place among all the wild hills, solemn and forbidding. In the glare of the headlights, Emmy spotted a huge warning sign right beside the gate. Red letters on white, impossible to miss.
RESTRICTED AREA
NO TRESPASSING
DRONES FORBIDDEN
VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED
There were two guards posted in little booths on either side of the gate, both of them armed, standing ramrod straight. Even in the middle of the night, their eyes were sharp and watchful.
Emmy stared, wide-eyed, and turned to James. “Is this... a military base?”
The mountain felt isolated, the wind howling around them, as if it was hiding a hundred secrets. James squeezed her hand, just holding on. It took a few seconds before he answered, his voice low and rough.
“No, this is Cloudrest Peak. The whole mountain used to be my grandmother’s. She left it to me when she passed.” He kept his eyes on the road ahead, watching the dark curve of the mountain as his throat tightened. “Jamie’s buried up at the top.”
Emmy felt her heart twist, a wave of sadness washing through her.
As they got closer, Emmy realized just how perfect the spot was. She looked past the grave, eyes going wide as the view hit her all at once. It was breathtaking. Right in front of the headstone, the city spread out far below, lit up and glittering. The view was so high and so clear, you could see what felt like half the capital in a single glance. The streets below glowed like rivers of gold. Even from so far away, Emmy could pick out the tallest building. Nelson Tower. Lights blazing, towering over the city like some kind of silent guardian.
So this was what Jamie saw. Watching over Nelson Corporation, night after night.
The sight left Emmy speechless. She just stared, lost in it, until the sound of James moving beside her pulled her back. He was crouched down, taking his time as he arranged the fruit and pastries in front of the headstone, making sure everything looked just right.
When he finished, James stood up, brushed off his hands, and took Emmy’s hand again. His eyes were steady as he looked at the grave.
“Jamie, I brought your sister-in-law to meet you. This is Emmy. She’s the one I want to spend my life with.”

chapter 1251 has no wording, just the chapter number...
What I was dreading the most just happened, I think I need to move on from this story and read something else. This story is breaking my heart....
CHAPTER 1220 HAS NO WORDING JUST THE CHAPTER NUMBER...
Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
I enjoy reading this. I like that the storyline isn’t drawn out and moves on. I also appreciate chapters being added almost everyday, thank you....
