Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 1081

Krystina stared at Danny’s twisted face, and her tears finally spilled over. The fearless queen of the business world, always sharp and in control, was now sobbing like a lost little girl.

“Danny, hang in there!” she pleaded, her voice trembling. “Help is on the way. You’re not going to die. I won’t let you die!”

Danny’s jaw was clenched so tight it looked painful. He was sweating, his stomach twisting like there was a blender going wild inside him. Even so, when he met Krystina’s red, tear-filled eyes, he felt a strange kind of peace.

“Krystina…” he managed, his breathing ragged, his voice barely more than a whisper. “If I make it out of this… will you listen to me for once?”

She nodded frantically, desperate. “I swear, I’ll listen. Anything you say. Just stay alive, okay? I won’t work late anymore, I’ll eat proper meals, I’ll see a doctor when I’m sick. I won’t be stubborn again, I promise!”

Danny swallowed, feeling the pressure inside him reach the breaking point. He took a shaky breath and reached out his hand.

“Okay then...” he said, struggling to keep his composure. “Right now… just give me some tissues… and please… go outside, far away from me.”

Krystina froze, then shook her head hard. “No, I can’t leave you here alone! What if you faint? What if something comes out of the woods? I have to stay. I’m not leaving until someone arrives.”

Danny almost lost it. Pure frustration made his vision swim. Why was she so stubborn? He gripped her hand tighter, his forehead veins bulging.

“Krystina, you just promised you’d listen to me! Not even a minute’s gone by and you’re taking it back? Are you trying to finish me off with stress? If I die, I’ll haunt you!”

If that had happened, how could he ever look her in the eye again?

As everything finally passed, the pain in his stomach eased. Danny just sat there, eyes closed, soaking in the relief. So the snake bite didn’t have any poison, but those bacteria were no joke. It was like he’d swallowed a handful of the world’s strongest laxatives. His poor body had taken a beating.

Meanwhile, Krystina had run a good distance before her steps slowed. Something felt off. The way Danny looked before… it was almost like that last burst of energy people get before the end. What if he really died? What if some animal dragged him away? She couldn’t just leave him alone. It was too dangerous.

That thought sent her running back the way she’d come. “Danny, hold on!” she whispered to herself as she pushed back through the thick brush, desperate to reach him again.
