Automatic gunfire erupted.
James gave them no chance to react. His rifle spat bullets and he kicked aside the bodies blocking his path, charging up the stairs without slowing down.
The higher he climbed, the fiercer the resistance became.
His rifle ran dry almost immediately, but James didn’t hesitate. He hurled it like a javelin at the next enemy charging toward him.
As the man flinched, James pulled the combat knife from the sheath strapped to his thigh.
The blade flashed. A red line split across the man’s throat. He dropped, hands clawing at his neck.
From that moment, James moved like a demon let loose from hell. Just one knife. Anyone who tried to stop him fell, fast and hard. Every move was sharp and efficient, every strike meant to end the fight.
At last, with a final surge, James caught hold of the top floor’s railing. His arms tensed, muscles flexing as he pulled himself up and over, landing quietly in the room where Black Mamba waited.
The room was dark.
Black Mamba stood by the window, laughing wildly as if she craved the chaos outside. The moment she heard the faintest sound behind her, every assassin’s instinct in her body went on high alert.
“Who’s there?”
She spun, snatching a rifle from the table, ready to shoot.
But James was already on her. He lunged forward, his leg snapping out in a brutal kick that slammed into her wrist.
The rifle went flying, clattering into a corner.
Black Mamba wasn’t just any target. Her left hand flashed down, pulling a tactical knife as she slashed it at James’s throat.
He jerked his head to the side, the blade slicing past, and at the same time, he drove his own knife straight for her stomach.
Black Mamba twisted her waist with an unnatural grace, barely dodging the blow.
The two of them crashed together in the cramped space, locked in a vicious fight.
Fists thudded into flesh. The sound was raw and ugly.
Black Mamba fought dirty, every move aimed to kill. But James was stronger, his attacks powered by pure force and the ruthless training of a special forces soldier.
After a few brutal exchanges, he drove her back until she was pinned in the corner.
James landed a heavy punch to her stomach.
Black Mamba choked, doubling over in pain.
Before she could recover, his hand locked around her throat like a steel trap.
He lifted her off the ground and slammed her into the wall. The whole wooden room shook from the impact.
Black Mamba’s feet dangled in the air, her face twisting in pain. She tried to fight, but James was relentless. He raised his knife, aiming it at the right side of her chest.

Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
