James’s eyes went wide. He hung up without another word.
“Come on.” He grabbed Emmy’s hand and took off running toward the inpatient wing.
They tore through the hallways, hearts pounding, until they reached the ICU floor. The elevator doors opened to a sea of people in the corridor.
All the Dragonscale guys were there, pressed up against the glass, trying to see inside the ICU. Their faces were a wild mix of tears and laughter, expressions tangled with relief and disbelief.
Abriella was hunched over by the little window, her eyes swollen and red.
Inside, a bunch of doctors crowded around a bed, checking monitors and talking in low voices.
Emmy spotted him through a gap in the crowd. The man who’d been out cold for days was lying there, eyes open. He looked a little lost, still hooked up to a ventilator, but he was really awake.
Emmy felt the sweaty grip on her hand finally start to loosen. The panic that had been clinging to her for days let go just a little.
The doctors in their white coats spent a long time bustling around the bed before the main doctor finally pulled off his mask and stepped out. His face was practically glowing with excitement.
“It’s a miracle. This guy’s body is off the charts.” The doctor shook his head, half smiling in disbelief. “All his vitals are bouncing back. His organs are healing way faster than we’d hoped.”
He flipped through his notes, still amazed. “Most people wouldn’t have lasted this long with injuries like these, but him… he’s got a will to live that’s honestly scary.”
“At this rate, give him two or three more days here, and if nothing changes, he can move to a regular room.”
At that, a couple of the burly soldiers just collapsed to the floor, sitting there like their bones had turned to jelly. Others turned away, shoulders shaking as they tried to hold back tears. All that tension, suddenly gone.
Abriella hurried forward, her voice shaking. “Doctor, can I go in? Just for a minute?”
The doctor checked his watch and gave her a gentle, apologetic look. “Not yet. He just woke up, and he’s still really out of it. He needs total rest right now.”
The hope in Abriella’s eyes faded.
But the doctor offered a small smile. “If his numbers are still good by this evening, you can go in for ten minutes.”

chapter 1251 has no wording, just the chapter number...
What I was dreading the most just happened, I think I need to move on from this story and read something else. This story is breaking my heart....
CHAPTER 1220 HAS NO WORDING JUST THE CHAPTER NUMBER...
Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
I enjoy reading this. I like that the storyline isn’t drawn out and moves on. I also appreciate chapters being added almost everyday, thank you....
