The temple was still packed with people.
They made their way through the main hall, walked down the long stone steps, and found themselves back on the bustling street lined with vendors.
Teresa glanced back. “Emmy, do you want to look around a bit more?”
Just thinking about that wild monkey from earlier made Emmy want to leave as soon as possible.
“No, Mom. It’s getting late. Let’s just head back,” she said.
The group started toward the parking lot.
But right at the entrance, they spotted two people they had absolutely no interest in seeing.
Isabel and Mandy stood there, clearly waiting for someone. The moment they caught sight of Emmy and her family, Isabel strode over with that flawless smile she always wore.
“Emmy,” she called out, her tone sweet as sugar. “Our car got into a little accident and had to be towed. Could you give us a ride back?”
Emmy frowned. Her voice stayed cool. “Our car’s full.”
Isabel’s smile faltered for a split second.
Mandy immediately bristled.
“What’s that supposed to mean, Emmy? You just don’t want us in your car, do you?”
“You brought two cars today. One of them’s a stretch, and you only have a maid and two bodyguards with you. How could there not be room?”
Emmy lost all patience. Her gaze turned icy.
“You’re right. I just don’t want you in my car.”
She looked straight at Mandy and didn’t bother to sugarcoat it. “It’s my car. I get to decide who rides in it. Do I owe you an explanation?”
Mandy’s face went scarlet with anger.
Isabel’s expression was frozen, like she couldn’t believe what just happened.
“Did you see how she acted?” Mandy stomped her foot, her voice full of outrage. “She doesn’t respect you at all!”
Isabel shot her an annoyed look. In her mind, Mandy wasn’t just clueless, she was also unbearably arrogant. If Isabel hadn’t thought she could use Mandy’s impulsiveness to get rid of Emmy’s twins, the ones with the Nelson bloodline, she would never have brought her along today. And for what? She didn’t even get a chance to do anything. Now, Emmy hated her too.
But something about Emmy’s sudden change of attitude just didn’t add up. The last time they met, everything had seemed civil enough.
It felt off.
Isabel suddenly had an idea. “Wait here,” she told Mandy.
She stepped away, pulled out her phone, and quickly dialed a number. Someone answered right away.
“Did you do something to Emmy at the temple?” Isabel demanded.

Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
