“Dean? What are you doing here?” Emmy’s throat burned with dryness. She looked around, voice hoarse. “Where’s Lorraine? Where’s Dr. Hall?”
As Emmy took in her surroundings, she noticed the IV in her hand and heard the steady beeping of a heart monitor nearby. She was lying in a small, cramped room. The familiar layout hit her all at once. She was in the bedroom of a private jet.
She tried to sit up, but Dean was already beside her, pressing a hand gently to her shoulder. “Stay down. Don’t move.”
“You just had a baby. Your body’s still really weak.”
Emmy shoved his hand away, panic rising like a tidal wave. “Where are we going? Where’s my phone?”
Dean caught the icy mistrust in her eyes and let out a heavy sigh. “If you just lie still, I’ll tell you everything.”
She stopped moving, but her cold gaze never left him.
Dean’s chest tightened. He spoke, his voice thick with bitterness. “Emmy, you won. I lost, completely. There’s nothing left for me back in the States.”
He paused for a second, and in his eyes Emmy saw something wild and desperate. “So I want to take you somewhere new, somewhere no one knows us. We could start over. We could actually live.”
Emmy stared at him like he’d lost his mind. “You’re insane. Take me back. Now.”
“There’s no going back.” Dean shook his head, his eyes dark and unyielding. “I’ve put everything I have on the line for this, for a future with you.” He swallowed, looking almost broken. “Emmy, please, just let me have this.”
His eyes were stormy with jealousy and pain. “Do you know how much it hurt, watching you with James… with Mr. Nelson? This is all I have left. I had to bring you back.”
Emmy gripped the bed, trying to get up, desperate to get away from him. But her body betrayed her. The room spun, black spots dancing in her vision.
“Don’t move!” Dean caught her quickly, his voice tight with worry. “You’re still anemic. Stay down.”
He eased her back onto the bed, his hands gentle but firm. “Four more hours. Then we’ll be home.”
“I found the best medical team for you. They’ll take care of everything. You’ll be back to yourself in no time.”

chapter 1251 has no wording, just the chapter number...
What I was dreading the most just happened, I think I need to move on from this story and read something else. This story is breaking my heart....
CHAPTER 1220 HAS NO WORDING JUST THE CHAPTER NUMBER...
Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
I enjoy reading this. I like that the storyline isn’t drawn out and moves on. I also appreciate chapters being added almost everyday, thank you....
