The doctor paused, giving her a gentle look as he spoke in careful English. “Ma’am, if you want to get better soon, you need to eat your meals on time, take your medicine, and get some exercise.”
“Let’s focus on treating your depression first. As your body gets stronger, your metabolism will speed up, and any leftover medication in your system will clear out faster.”
“When that happens, there’s a good chance your memories will come back on their own.”
Emmy nodded, taking his words to heart. If her body got better, her mind would too.
Over the next few days, she made a real effort to eat more at every meal. She never missed her medicine, always taking it right in front of James so he could see. When she had energy, she’d go downstairs for a walk in the garden. Bit by bit, she actually started to feel better. Her hair, which had been a mess, was cut into a neat short style that framed her face and made her look fresh and put together.
But her sleep schedule was a disaster. She slept most of the day and came alive at night, her insomnia keeping her up for hours.
She also noticed how busy James was. When he wasn’t spending time with her, he was always working. He’d be on video calls, typing away at his computer, or talking on the phone nonstop. At night, the light in his room stayed on until two or three in the morning, sometimes all night long.
One night, Emmy couldn’t sleep no matter how hard she tried. She’d counted three thousand sheep and was still wide awake, staring at the ceiling. Frustrated, she ran her fingers through her hair and wandered out onto her balcony.
The light in the room next door was still shining.
Suddenly, she felt a little mischievous. She bent down and grabbed a small pebble from a flowerpot, aimed, and tossed it at the neighboring balcony.
The stone hit the iron railing with a sharp, clear sound.
A few seconds later, the sliding door opened. James rolled out in his wheelchair, dressed in black silk pajamas, the collar open to reveal a glimpse of his pale chest. He gripped the railing with both hands and stood up, frowning slightly as he looked over at her.
“Why aren’t you asleep?”
Emmy leaned against her own railing, propping her chin in her hands and raising an eyebrow at him. The sea breeze played with her freshly cut hair, making her look a little playful.
Emmy leaned closer over the railing. “Well, I can’t sleep anyway. If you really do need help, you have to tell me.”
The way she said it, so serious, made something shift in James’s chest. He paused, then seemed to think of something.
“There actually is something I could use your help with.”
Emmy’s eyes lit up. “What is it?”
James motioned for her to come over. “Come here.”
Emmy didn’t hesitate. She ran straight out of her room. For the first time, she stepped into James’s bedroom. The moment she pushed the door open, she stopped in her tracks, completely stunned by what she saw.

chapter 1251 has no wording, just the chapter number...
What I was dreading the most just happened, I think I need to move on from this story and read something else. This story is breaking my heart....

Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
