Emmy just shook her head and pressed her hand down on the documents. “Let’s do it this way. I’ll take forty-nine percent of the technical shares, and you get back the fifty-one percent.” When James’s brow furrowed again like he was about to argue, Emmy cut him off. “You built this company from scratch. I didn’t help at all in the beginning. Besides, I’ll be handling the tech stuff, and you’ll still have to take care of everything else. More work, more reward. That’s fair, isn’t it?”

James looked at her, exasperated by how serious she was. They were married. Did it really need to be so precise? He was just about to say something when Emmy’s voice dropped lower.

“And, James… your real enemy is Tyler.”

Just saying the name made the air feel colder. “He’s running Nelson Corporation all by himself now. He’s like a mountain you can’t get over. If you want payback, you need to have something solid in your hands. If you don’t hold the controlling shares, you’ll have to jump through my board just to get the funds to go after him. His voice was a little rough. He picked up the documents and headed for the door. The assistant waiting outside came over right away. James handed him the file and quietly told him which terms to change. The assistant nodded and hurried off with the paperwork.
