Dumped Then Claimed By A Billionaire (Nerissa and Owen) novel Chapter 116

Chapter 116

Mrs. Berenson suddenly broke down, and Verena and Jessica, who were standing nearby, quickly supported

her.

Verena immediately asked, “Mom, are you alright? What did the test say?”

“Yes! Yes! Nerissa is my Arie! She’s really my Arie!” Mrs. Berenson cried out, sobbing uncontrollably.

Nineteen years!

She’d held on for nineteen whole years.

At last, the day she’d been waiting for was finally here.

Heaven had finally delivered Arie to her.

No one could truly grasp just how ecstatic Mrs. Berenson was at this moment.

Hearing Mrs. Berenson’s words, the whole Berenson family couldn’t contain their excitement.

“Mom, let me see the report!” Victor was the first to react, taking the report from Mrs. Berenson.

The seven brothers instantly crowded around Victor, barely able to contain themselves.

Seeing the results on the report, Victor, just like Mrs. Berenson, broke down in tears.

“It’s her! It’s really Arie! Brothers! After all these years, we’ve finally found Arie!”

The eight brothers threw their arms around each other, bursting into tears and laughter.

“We found Arie! We finally found Arie!”

Verena and the seven sisters-in-law couldn’t hold back their tears of joy either.

Fate finally rewarded their

perseverance.

Finally, their whole family got the good news they’d been waiting for-just in time for the New Year.

Verena wiped the tears from her face and turned to Eliana, who was standing nearby. “Eliana, hurry! Go spread the good news to everyone in Kindowen!”

Mrs. Sullivan was just like Mrs. Berenson.

She’d also been searching for Arie for nineteen years.

Right now, in this very moment.

The first person who should hear this wonderful news was Mrs. Sullivan.

Eliana nodded eagerly. “Okay, okay, I’m calling Mrs. Sullivan right now!”

Mrs. Berenson added, “Get ready. I’m going to Aosthorne myself to personally bring Arie back.”

“Mom, we’re coming too!”

“We’re coming too!”

“Grandma, we want to go too!” The thirteen Berenson grandchildren joined in immediately.

She was their one and only little sister, after all.

Of course, this was a huge deal for them.

“Go, everyone! Let’s all head out together!” Mrs. Berenson exclaimed, but then she suddenly remembered something. “Hold on, hold on—we can’t all leave. We need a few people to stay behind and get the house ready for Arie.”

If everyone went, there’d be no one left to supervise and make sure everything’s perfect for her homecoming.

If it were any other occasion, she might just let things slide.

But this time, it’s Arie coming home.

She was bringing her darling granddaughter home.

When it came to Arie, Mrs. Berenson wasn’t about to let anything slide.

No one could imagine just how thrilled Mrs. Berenson was right now. “Jessica, you and Joanna stay behind and supervise everything! Make sure the house is decorated-make it extra festive!”

Jessica and Joanna weren’t having it at all.

They wanted to be part of the group heading out to bring Arie home.

This was the moment they’d been waiting for all these years-how could they miss it?

After thinking for a moment, Jessica said, “Mom, once we pick up Arie, we’re definitely heading straight to Kindowen. So how about this-let me go with you to Aosthorne to bring her back, and when Arie gets to Kindowen, Joanna and I can rush home and decorate the house to welcome her. What do you think?”

Arie was part of the Sullivan family, after all.

Mrs. Sullivan had been waiting for Arie for nineteen long years.

The moment they found her, the first thing to do was bring her back to Kindowen so she could finally be reunited with her family.

Once things were sorted out in Kindowen, then they could take Arie to Minttown.

Mrs. Berenson grinned, clearly delighted. “Jessica, you’re totally right! We’ll do it your way. You come with us to Aosthorne, then head back when it’s time.” She looked at both of them. “But isn’t all that back and forth going to wear you out?”

Joanna jumped in, “No way! We’re not tired at all. If it means bringing Arie home, we could do this a hundred times and still be pumped!”

Jessica nodded, backing her up. “Exactly! It’s just a couple extra flights, no big deal. For Arie, we’d do it all over again and not feel tired one bit!”

Mrs. Berenson was grinning from ear to ear-she hadn’t been this happy in years. “Alright, it’s settled! Victor, go talk to the airport and get everything ready. We’re heading out today!”

The Berenson family had their own private jet.

But they still had to get clearance before taking off.

Even with their own jet, arranging everything for such a big family was still a hassle.

“Got it, Mom,” Victor nodded. “I’ll take care of it right away.”

Meanwhile.

Outside the Berenson family’s front gate.

Anna had come by the Berenson house again.

Normally, whenever she showed up, the butler would come out in no time to let her in.

But today, the butler had gone inside and hadn’t come back out for

ages.

That left Anna wondering what was going on.

It’s been ten minutes already.

Just as Anna was getting a bit restless, the butler finally came out.

“Miss Anna,” the butler called out.

Anna’s face broke into a smile as she walked forward. “Mr. Wood, is it okay for me to come in now?”

Saying that, Anna made to go inside.

These days, she’d been dropping by almost every day, but Dawn was always busy, and she still hadn’t even gotten his WhatsApp.

So, she was back again today.

‘Dawn must be home today, Anna thought to herself.

But as soon as Anna stepped over the threshold of the Berenson family’s front gate, the butler moved to block

her path.

“Miss Anna, hold on,” the butler said.

‘Wait, what?’

Anna turned around, confused. “Is there something you need, Mr. Wood?”

“I’m really sorry, Miss Anna,” the butler said, his face full of apology. “The Berenson family has some big things going on today, so we can’t have any guests over right now.”

‘Something big?

‘No guests today?”

Hearing that, Anna couldn’t help but frown slightly.

What on earth is happening at the Berenson house that they won’t even let me in?’ Anna thought, a bit annoyed.

After that, the butler handed her a little something. “Oh, and Miss Anna, as an apology, Mrs. Berenson prepared this for you herself. Please don’t let this trouble you at all.”

“Please thank Mrs. Berenson for me,” Anna said, accepting the gift with both hands. Then she asked, “By the way, Mr. Wood, can you tell me what big thing is happening with the family today? Is there anything I can do to help?”

The butler shook his head. “I’m not sure myself, Miss Anna.”

Anna looked toward the front gate, her eyes narrowing a bit.

‘Seriously, what’s going on inside?’ she wondered.

Meanwhile-

Back at the Sullivan family’s home in Kindowen.

Mrs. Sullivan had been bedridden for days because of her chronic headaches. She couldn’t eat, couldn’t drink, and her spirits were at an all-time low.

Luna sat by the bed, gently feeding Mrs. Sullivan some soup.

Mrs. Sullivan, her face pale, waved her hand weakly.

“I can’t drink anymore,” she said softly.

Luna let out a worried sigh, her face clouded with concern. “Mom, you really need to eat something. You haven’t had a proper meal in days-how are you supposed to keep your strength up?”

Chapter 116

Mrs. Sullivan just shook her head, gently refusing the spoon Luna offered.

Seeing this, Luna could only sigh in resignation, and set the bowl down beside her.

Suddenly, Mrs. Sullivan seemed to remember something and asked, “Oh, Luna, how’s everything going in Minttown? Is Mrs. Berenson doing any better? Has Anna called?”

11

“Mrs. Berenson’s out of danger now and doing great, so you don’t have to worry,” Luna replied. She didn’t want Anna’s moment in the spotlight to get stolen by that girl Nerissa, so she made sure Mrs. Sullivan didn’t hear a word about Nerissa.

According to Anna, Nerissa was just nineteen this year-three years younger than Anna herself.

Mrs. Sullivan wasn’t a fan of Anna to begin with. If she found out that a girl three years younger than Anna had saved Mrs. Berenson, she’d probably like Anna even less.

2

Luna, just like her daughter, figured Nerissa had just lucked out-it’s not like she’s some miracle doctor or anything.

But Mrs. Sullivan definitely wouldn’t see it that way.

Mrs. Sullivan would put her faith in a stranger before she’d ever believe her own granddaughter.

Hearing Luna’s words, Mrs. Sullivan finally relaxed. “Good thing she’s okay. If anything happened to Mrs. Berenson right now, she wouldn’t be able to rest easy, not even after she’s gone.”

Mrs. Berenson felt the same way.

Neither Charlotte nor Arie had been found.

Even after she passed away, she wouldn’t be able to rest in peace.

Hearing this, a glint of calculation flashed in Luna’s eyes.

‘Even if Mrs. Berenson wakes up now, what difference does it make?’ Luna mused.

Most people don’t even make it to a hundred.

Mrs. Berenson was already seventy-seven years

old.

So even if she lives to a hundred, that’s just twenty-three years left.

But let’s be real-even if she had forty-three, or fifty-three years left, it wouldn’t change a thing.

They’re never coming back, not Charlotte, not Arie.

No matter how long they waited, they’d still end up waiting for nothing.

If they ever wanted to be together again, it’d have to be in the afterlife.

Of course, Luna kept those thoughts to herself.

chers

“Yeah, Arie still hasn’t turned up, so Mrs. Berenson really can’t afford anything to go wrong right now. Thank heavens she’s alright,” Luna said, turning to Mrs. Sullivan. “Mom, you just need to rest and get your strength back. Don’t let anyone get under your skin, and don’t pay attention to what others say. Arie’s special-she’s one of a kind, and we’re going to find her, I know it. The more you let yourself get upset, the more you’re playing right into those troublemakers’ hands. They’re just hoping you won’t get better!”

In fact, Mrs. Sullivan’s headaches came back this time all because of the drama surrounding Arie.

She was at a banquet when her old nemesis from her younger days totally pissed her off.

That woman had two granddaughters, and they just kept poking at Mrs. Sullivan’s sore spot, throwing shade and making snide remarks-basically saying she’d done so many bad things that now she was left all alone, with no descendants to her name.

Mrs. Sullivan was so furious her legs nearly gave out beneath her.

She was literally trembling with anger.

She didn’t even wait for the banquet to end-she just rushed home.

Mrs. Sullivan nodded. “Luna, you’re absolutely right. I can’t let myself get worked up anymore-I just need to take care of myself and get back on my feet!”

Ring ring ring-

The sudden, urgent ringtone cut through the air.

It was Mrs. Berenson’s phone.

The phone was on the table, and Luna quickly snatched it up.

Mrs. Sullivan immediately asked, “Who’s calling?”

This was her personal phone.

Nobody but her family and close friends had this number.

When Luna saw who was calling, she lit up with excitement.

‘It’s a call from Minttown!

‘Bet it’s Mrs. Berenson calling to gush about Anna to Mom,’ Luna thought, practically bursting with pride.

After all, her Anna was such a star-of course Mrs. Berenson would be totally won over.

Who knows, maybe Mrs. Berenson would even personally bring up the idea of Anna and Dawn getting married.

Anna had called earlier, saying the Berenson family kept trying to set her up with Dawn.

Luna did her best to hide her excitement and looked at Mrs. Sullivan. “Mom, the call’s from the Berenson

family.”

“Let me answer it,” Mrs. Sullivan said, reaching out with authority.

Luna passed the phone to her right away.

“Hello?”

Mrs. Sullivan hit the answer button, doing her best to sound upbeat.

On the other end, Eliana could barely contain her excitement. “Mrs. Sullivan! It’s Eliana! I’m calling to bring you some wonderful news!”
