Dumped Then Claimed By A Billionaire (Nerissa and Owen) novel Chapter 124

Chapter 124

In Ivy’s mind, Hunter treasured her as his own flesh and blood.

After all, she was his biological granddaughter-the only one truly related to him by blood.

If Hunter accepted her, she’d officially be Nerissa’s little sister.

Nerissa was now the Sullivan family’s eldest daughter.

That meant Ivy would become the Sullivan family’s second young lady!

The more Ivy thought about it, the more excited she got. She grabbed Winifred and Dylan’s arms. “Mom, Dad, let’s go! We have to find Grandpa right now!”

She used to not care for Hunter at all, but now she was desperate to have him recognize her.

Ivy couldn’t wait to outshine Nerissa and become the Sullivan family’s second young lady, the darling of the Berenson family!

Then, just like Nerissa, she’d get interviewed by the media and appear on TV.

If Linda and Alice saw her on TV, they’d be so jealous!

Just think about it, that’s the Sullivan family and the Berenson family!

Regular people could spend their whole lives and never even get close to families like that.

Hearing Ivy’s words, Dylan looked troubled. “I… I said so many awful things to your grandpa back then. Do you think Grandpa would really forgive me?”

Back when he was trying to cut ties with Hunter, he’d let loose with every cruel word he could come up with.

Now, Dylan was anxious as hell.

“You’re his own son! How could he not forgive you? No father and son ever stay mad at each other for long,” Winifred said, squinting. “And Ivy’s right. Last time I took her to your sister’s place, we bumped into Grandpa in the neighborhood. He went out of his way to greet Ivy-he was so warm to her! If he sees Ivy coming to him today, he’d be absolutely thrilled! There’s no way he’d turn us away.”

Plus, Dylan’s not just Hunter’s son-he’s the only son Hunter’s got.

So honestly, they really didn’t have to worry about Hunter rejecting them.

That’s just not gonna happen.

Winifred’s eyes sparkled with scheming. “Dylan, forget worrying about whether Grandpa will take you back- the real thing to think about is what we should ask for when we see him.”

“Honestly, I haven’t figured that out yet. Winifred, any ideas what we should ask for?” Dylan was never one to

make decisions, so when stuff like this happened, he always turned to his wife for advice.

Winifred’s eyes sparkled with calculation. “First off, Hunter raised Nerissa for nineteen years. Ivy may not be her sister by blood, but their relationship is tighter than most real siblings. So Nerissa has to personally bring Ivy into the Sullivan family. The family head is basically out of commission, and Mrs. Sullivan only has Nerissa as her granddaughter. Since Ivy is Nerissa’s sister, she should totally become the Sullivan family’s second young lady and eventually inherit the family right alongside Nerissa.

“Second, we need the Sullivan family to buy us two luxury villas in Kindowen.

“Third, we want the Sullivan family to hook us up with cushy management jobs at Sullivan Group.”

Only if both of them get those positions and pave the way for Ivy can she smoothly take over Sullivan Group and become the one calling the shots.

After all, Ivy clearly outshines Nerissa.

Ivy is the only one truly fit to inherit Sullivan Group-no one else could handle it like she can.

Dylan frowned slightly. “But what if he doesn’t agree to our terms?”

Winifred grinned. “Just tell him-if he agrees to our terms, Ivy becomes a Jamison on the spot. But if he refuses, she’ll stay a Holloway for life. Ivy’s his one and only precious granddaughter-do you honestly think he’d turn us down?”

Old-timers like Hunter are obsessed with family legacy. Back when Dylan married into the Holloway family, Hunter always had a problem with it. Now that they’re offering to let Ivy take the Jamison name, he’d jump at the chance-no way he’d say no.

You don’t even need to think twice to know that’s impossible.

“You’re totally right, Winifred!” Dylan nodded. “That’s settled-let’s go find Hunter, right now!”

Winifred and Ivy grabbed their coats and followed Dylan out the door.

Her parents walked the three of them to the door, excitement written all over their faces. “Dylan, Winifred, your mom and I will be waiting at home for your good news!”

They’d always thought living in a spacious condo would be the best they could ever hope for.

Who would’ve thought they’d actually get to move to Kindowen one day?

“Got it, Mom, Dad,” Dylan said with a grin, turning back. “Just wait-soon you’ll be living the good life with us in Kindowen!”

After all, their family was about to own two villas in Kindowen, and Ivy would be moving in with Nerissa as the Sullivan family’s second young lady.

Dylan and Winifred first went to the old neighborhood where Hunter used to live, but couldn’t find him. So

they checked with the property office, only to learn that Hunter and Nerissa had already moved to Winton Villas.

Ivy’s eyes widened. “No wonder! No wonder I saw Nerissa with a Winton Villas keycard last term. That means the Sullivan family and the Berenson family had already figured out who she was-they just hadn’t done the DNA test yet!”

“You silly girl, why didn’t you tell me something this important earlier?” Winifred chided.

If Ivy had realized it sooner, they would’ve tracked down Hunter ages ago-no need to wait this long.

‘I seriously thought Grandpa was just working as a cleaner at Winton Villas! Who could’ve imagined that Nerissa-the so-called country girl-was hiding a secret identity all along?’ Ivy thought, her eyes burning with frustration.

The three of them hopped into another taxi.

But they totally missed one crucial detail.

Winton Villas doesn’t allow outsiders’ cars through the gate-so there’s no way they’re getting in now.

When the security guards blocked their way at the gate, Winifred was fuming, hands on her hips. “You clueless gatekeepers! Do you even know who we are? We’re relatives of the Sullivan and Berenson families in Kindowen! If you mess with us, you’ll be sorry!”

The guard, who’d dealt with plenty of people like Winifred before, stayed patient. “Sorry, ma’am, but our villa has strict rules-no entry without a keycard or prior registration. We’re just doing our job here. Why don’t you call your family and have them come out to get you? Or have them ring the security booth for you.”

Winifred shot Dylan a look. “Give Hunter a call.”

Dylan shifted awkwardly, a hint of regret in his eyes. “I deleted his number.”

‘If I still had his number, I would’ve called him ages ago, Dylan thought, feeling a little helpless.

Just then, Ivy’s eyes lit up. She waved excitedly toward the distance, her voice bursting with joy as she called out, “Grandpa! It’s Grandpa! And Nerissa!”

Yep, that’s them.

Up ahead, it really was Hunter and Nerissa-no doubt about it.

Since Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Berenson, and the Berenson family’s uncles, aunts, plus their thirteen brothers all wanted to see what Nerissa’s old life was like, Hunter and Nerissa brought everyone over to visit the neighborhood where they used to live.

Hearing that, Dylan and Winifred immediately looked over-and sure enough, they spotted Hunter and Nerissa in the crowd.

Dylan and Winifred exchanged a glance, then waved and called out to them, “Dad! Nerissa!”

Ivy rolled her eyes at the guard and smirked. “That’s my real grandpa and my sister. You’re about to get what’s coming to you, guard dog!”

Hearing someone call out, Hunter and Nerissa turned to see who it was.

A few seconds later, Hunter paused and addressed the group. “Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Berenson, Nerissa’s uncles and aunts-could you all wait here for a bit? I need to handle a personal matter.”

“Grandpa, let me go with you,” Nerissa said.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got this,” Hunter replied with a gentle smile at Nerissa.

“Alright,” Nerissa nodded.

After Hunter walked away, Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Berenson, and the rest of the Berenson family all looked curiously at the three people standing outside the gate.

Nerissa explained, “Those are my grandpa’s son-he married into the Holloway family-along with his wife and their daughter.”

As soon as they heard that, everyone’s faces twisted with mixed feelings.

‘Seriously? After signing those severance papers, they’ve got the guts to show up here again?

‘The

way that family goes after benefits is just pathetic, everyone thought.

Hunter strolled up to the

gate. “Zack.”

Zack, the security guard, turned around with a friendly grin. “Uncle Jamison, these three say they’re family. Should I let them in?”

As soon as Hunter walked over, Dylan, Winifred, and Ivy couldn’t hide their excitement.

‘See? We knew it!’ they thought.

‘Grandpa would never turn us away!’

After all, they were his own son, his daughter-in-law, and his granddaughter.

Hunter might have Nerissa by his side now, but Nerissa didn’t share a single drop of blood with Hunter-only they were actually his flesh and blood, his true family.

Thinking this, Winifred stood even taller, chin up, and looked straight at Hunter. “Dad, I brought Dylan and Ivy here just to see you! But this glorified guard dog blocked us at the gate. You should report him to management and make sure he gets fired!”

Hearing that, Zack turned quickly to Hunter and apologized, “Sorry, Mr. Jamison, I didn’t realize they were your family! I honestly didn’t mean to block them.”

Hunter was one of the homeowners here, and the annual fees at Winton Villas were over 10 thousand bucks. If someone like him complained, Fisher would be out of a job for sure.

Being a security guard at Winton Villas was a pretty sweet gig, and Zack definitely didn’t want to lose it.

Seeing Zack apologize, Winifred got even more full of herself, gloating as she sneered, “Oh, now you know how to say sorry? Where was that attitude when you were blocking us? Seriously, you clueless mutt-don’t you know your place?”

But what Hunter said next made Winifred, Dylan, and Ivy feel like they’d just been thrown into an ice bath. “Zack, there’s no need to apologize. I don’t know these people, and I have absolutely nothing to do with them. If they ever show up again pretending to be my family, just call the police.”
