Chapter 129
“You can’t just stay wherever you like! You’re a true friend to the Sullivan family!” Luna said warmly, “Since you just got to Kindowen, there might be things you’re not used to. If you need anything, just ask the staff.”
Mrs. Sullivan nodded in agreement. “Luna’s right, Mr. Stratford. Really, treat this place as your own home. Seriously, make yourself comfortable!”

Once everyone was settled in, Luna finally led Anna and their little one back to their family courtyard, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. ‘Finally, some peace and quiet for the three of us,’ she thought.
Anna looked confused. “Mom, do you really think that little village girl Nerissa Jamison could actually wake Uncle Leo up?”
Luna’s lips twisted into a scornful smirk. “Her? She wishes!”
In Luna’s eyes, Nerissa was just some immature brat, still wet behind the ears.
‘How could a kid like her possibly cure Leo, who’s basically a vegetable?’ Luna sneered to herself.
‘Anyone with half a brain could tell that’s impossible,’ she thought.
Anna frowned. “If you don’t think Nerissa can wake Uncle Leo up either, then why did you stop me from calling her out?”
Not only did Luna stop her from exposing Nerissa, she even made Anna tag along after Nerissa and learn from her.
Just thinking about what happened made Anna feel so suffocated and pissed off.
She was a legit heiress from a top family!
If anyone should be learning, it should be Nerissa tagging along after her, not the other way
around!
Luna narrowed her eyes. “Anna, you’re still too young! Nerissa just got brought back, and right now, she’s everyone’s favorite. If you try to call her out now, nobody’s going to believe you or take your side. You’ll just end up with everyone turning against you.”
“So instead of sticking your neck out, just wait it out. If Leo still hasn’t woken up after a year, Grandma will go
after her herself.”
As Luna finished speaking, a sinister glint flashed in her eyes.
Anna finally understood what Luna was plotting and smirked. “Mom, you’re absolutely right! With that little village girl’s bargain-bin medical skills, forget about curing Leo or waking him up. If she can even keep him alive, that’s already impressive! Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Leo ends up dying because of her.”
If Leo really died under Nerissa’s care, Mrs. Sullivan would instantly become her worst enemy.
right then.
“What would it have changed if I’d told you earlier?” Lennox shot back coolly. “What, you want to move back to Kindowen now?”
“That’s right! I’m moving to Kindowen! Our family’s real home has always been there!” The Stratford family only moved to Aosthorne three years ago, since their old estate was here. Hannah had just wanted to retire and spend her golden years in her hometown.
But now!
Her daughter-in-law was gone.
Why bother retiring now?
Lennox’s lips curled into a faint smile, but he quickly wiped it away and looked up at Hannah. “Mom, you can’t just make decisions on a whim. We’ve only been living in Aosthorne for three years.”
“I’m not just making this up! I’m dead serious! I don’t care! I’m moving to Kindowen, no matter what!” Hannah shot back. “You’re always saying Stratfordland is too noisy, aren’t you? If we move to Kindowen, it’ll be much quieter!”
Lennox frowned slightly. “You’re really serious about this?”
“Of course I am! I’m dead serious!” Hannah shot back, her tone leaving no room for doubt.
Lennox let out a helpless sigh. “Are you really not going to think it over?”
“What’s there to think about? No need! That’s final!” Hannah snapped, making it clear she wasn’t budging.
“Alright then.” Lennox gave a resigned sigh. “Since you’re so determined, I guess I have no choice but to respect your wishes.”
Seeing her son finally give in, Hannah was satisfied. “That’s more like it! Start getting things in order, we’re moving to Kindowen right after the holidays.”
There were only four days left until the New Year.
Moving right now just wasn’t practical.
“Got it.” Lennox nodded slightly. “I’ll let my sister and brother-in-law know later.”
After dinner, Lennox headed upstairs to his room.
Once the door was closed, Lennox excitedly scooped up Snowball from the bed. “Snowball, Snowball, are you excited? We’re moving to Kindowen soon!”
‘Kindowen? Did I hear that right?’ Snowball’s ears shot straight up.
The moment he heard that word, Snowball started meowing like crazy, practically bouncing with joy.

‘Meow meow meow!’ Snowball couldn’t contain his excitement.
‘Is Dad really taking me to see Nerissa?’ Snowball wondered, his whiskers twitching with anticipation.
A few seconds later, Lennox set Snowball down and squinted suspiciously. “What’s going on? Snowball, you don’t smell as good as you usually do!”
Snowball just glared at him, speechless.
‘Well, obviously I don’t smell nice… Nerissa hasn’t cuddled me in two days. How am I supposed to smell good?’ Snowball grumbled to himself, feeling kinda salty.
Especially since he’d just been home last night.
‘She used to hug me every single day!’ Snowball complained inwardly.
Before they knew it, the 28th had arrived.
It was the Sullivan family’s grand acknowledgement banquet.
Mrs. Sullivan had invited all the top families from Kindowen’s high society.
She even brought in a bunch of A-list celebrities to add some star power to the event.
And for the host, she snagged one of the most famous TV hosts in the country.
Mrs. Sullivan was making it crystal clear to everyone, Nerissa wasn’t just the Sullivan family’s little princess, she was also the sole heir to the Sullivan Group!
Right now, Nerissa was backstage in the makeup room, getting her makeup done for the big night.
As the makeup artist worked, she couldn’t help but gush, “Miss Sullivan, your skin is absolutely flawless! The foundation just glides on, no patchiness at all.”
“And those eyes-wow! It’s like you’re born with colored contacts or something.”
But contacts are just contacts, you know? They might look cool, but they don’t have that spark, that soul. Nerissa’s eyes? Way more captivating than any fake lenses could ever hope to be.
Mrs. Sullivan had brought in a celebrity makeup artist, the kind who usually only works with top stars.
She’d seen her fair share of beauties, but Nerissa? She’d never been blown away like this before.
The craziest part? No filters, no enhancements, not a single bit of work done on her face.
100% natural, through and through.
So when it came to doing her makeup, there was no need for tricks or cover-ups, just let Nerissa’s own beauty do all the talking.
“Miss Sullivan, what kind of skincare products do you usually use?” the makeup artist asked, genuinely
curious.
“I use Wabo.” Nerissa replied.
‘Wabo?’ The makeup artist blinked in surprise.
Wabo was a super popular skincare brand under the Sullivan Group. It was super affordable, so most of its fans were moms and grandparents. Young people these days were all about those fancy luxury brands.
The makeup artist figured that with skin as perfect as Nerissa’s, she had to be using some high-end stuff. Turns out, she was just using Wabo. That was a shocker.
“I’m definitely gonna try Wabo when I get home!” the makeup artist said, her eyes lighting up.
Nerissa grinned. “I’ll get someone to send you the New Year’s special edition set later.”
The makeup artist broke into a big smile. “Wow, thanks a ton, Miss Sullivan!”
When the makeup artist first heard that the Sullivan family’s long-lost granddaughter was just some country girl, she totally expected Nerissa to be uncouth and tacky, the kind who just got rich and started showing off.
But she was totally wrong.
Even though Nerissa came from the countryside, she had a vibe that put even the fanciest heiresses to shame. There was just something about her-an aura that made you want to fall in line behind her without even realizing it.
Knock, knock, knock-
While Nerissa was getting her makeup done, someone knocked on the door.
