Hearing Yvonne’s words, everyone exchanged glances.
Although what she said wasn’t wrong, her expression clearly didn’t match her words.
And everyone here worked in showbiz—they could easily see through the act.
Yvonne’s tone and expression were completely out of sync.
She looked like she wanted everyone to know, while pretending to be embarrassed at the same time.
To these industry veterans, it was obvious she was trying to have it both ways.
They were all old foxes in this game, and watching Yvonne act was like watching someone perform a fairy tale for them.
Megan also caught that look on Yvonne’s face and muttered, “She looks like she can’t wait to announce to the world that she and Lucas are the ones in those photos.
“She looks so pleased with herself that I can’t help thinking back when she worked with Lucas, I actually thought they made a good team. But now? She’s just trash.”
Megan’s words were blunt, but Aurora couldn’t help laughing.
She had to admit Megan had a point.
When she first met Yvonne, she’d thought the woman was impressive—at least professionally capable and well-known internationally.
But she hadn’t expected her to resort to such petty tricks.
In Aurora’s eyes, this was nothing but lowering her own worth.
Now that their relationship had soured, Aurora realized Yvonne wasn’t nearly as formidable as she’d imagined.
Did she really think no one online could hold her accountable?
Megan leaned closer and muttered by Aurora’s ear, “Aurora, she’s way too full of herself. How can she act like this?
“I used to think Yvonne was the type who carried herself with pride, but now she’s just throwing away her dignity, practically begging to be the other woman.”
Aurora could only sigh. “You can’t control everyone’s choices. This is the path she picked herself.”
Her tone stayed calm as she continued, “Megan, I told you before, people like her don’t matter to me. What I care about is Lucas’ attitude toward me.
“As long as your cousin stands on my side, what else do I need to worry about? In the end, his stance decides everything.
“If the day ever comes when he chooses her instead, then tell me, what would there be left to fight for?”
