“It’s just like I told you,” Aurora said calmly. “I’ve shared a bed with him for so long. How could I possibly not recognize whether the man in that photo is my husband or not?”
“Alright then. Good thing I showed you; I almost made a mess trying to do the right thing,” Megan exhaled in relief.
Ever since they started filming this show, she’d realized she kept causing trouble for Aurora, and that thought always made her anxious.
What if this incident turned into another burden for her?
She’d never been the kind of person to trouble others, and that was exactly why she’d become overly cautious, always thinking about how Aurora might feel and worrying about doing the wrong thing.
If she did make a mistake, she wanted to be the one to fix it.
She didn’t want Aurora constantly stepping in to clean up after her. She was an adult now; she needed to take responsibility for her own actions.
By the time they arrived at the recording site, both women quickly noticed a crowd gathered around Yvonne.
Yvonne’s face was pale and flustered as she stammered out an explanation, “I’m so sorry, everyone, I really don’t know how those photos ended up online.”
Her anxious expression made it seem as though she were genuinely innocent, but it only had the opposite effect.
The more she tried to explain, the guiltier she looked.
Her reaction practically confirmed it for everyone: the photos were real, and she and Lucas must have been involved.
Otherwise, how could such pictures even exist?
Her obvious panic only fanned the flames further, and whispers rippled through the room.
Her decision to join this show had never been just about the work; part of her motive was to get close to Aurora, but the other was to strengthen her fanbase in the country.
After everything she’d experienced, she understood one thing clearly: fans were the only ones who would never abandon her.
Just as she’d once said, she wanted more people willing to fight for her—people who would defend her whenever she was attacked.
And that wish had come true. Her fans were like an army. Every time she pointed, they fired.
Putting on a modest smile, Yvonne said softly, “Please don’t get the wrong idea. I’ll definitely find out who spread those photos.”
Then, with feigned seriousness, she added, “Posting such things so recklessly… I have no idea where they got them. This kind of behavior damages both my reputation and Mr. Carter’s.”
