Dusk Snow Hides All Return (Rowan and Adrienne) novel Chapter 384

Chapter 359.

I froze.

My thoughts jolted, as if my soul had been ripped from my body.

After a moment, I replied with two words:”Welcome.”

I’d added her as a contact and told her I’d be back next Wednesday. The meaning was clear enough.

A vague memory surfaced: Xander’s sister had mentioned a call from Mom that morning, warning him to be careful. Is the one Xander needs to be cautious of Anna??

My heart sank.

A moment later, I gave a bleak smile.

Lost in thought, my phone slipped into the water, instantly submerged by petals and foam.

I frantically fished it out, but the screen was black, unresponsive. It was dead.

I blinked, feeling numb.

The steam from the bath swirled around me.

I looked at my poor phone with pity.

It had pierced through the dreEmily bubbles and fragrant flowers, dying unexpectedly.

But what difference did preparation make? What difference did my longing make?

I warned my wolf, as if I were warning myself, “Reality wouldn’t be kind. There would be no miracle.

A alpha’s infatuation can be shed, but a powerless omega’s infatuation cannot.”

I climbed out of the tub and wrapped myself in a towel.

Turning, I tossed the phone, which had been resting between the aromatherapy diffuser and a wine glass, back into the water…

The next day.

After breakfast, I went to get a new SIM card and a new phone.

Then I took a taxi to my parents’ house to get my car.

As soon as I turned on my new phone, Xander called.

“Hello,” I answered.

“You’re not home? Your phone’s off,” Xander’s voice came through, a hint of suspicion in his usually calm tone.

I was tired of his perceptiveness.

I leaned back, finding a comfortable position.

“I dropped my phone in the bathwater last night. It’s completely ruined, so I’m getting a new one and a new SIM card,” I said casually.

Xander: So careless.”

Sophia:”It wasn’t intentional. Accidents happen.”

Xander:”Are you coming home after you’re done?”

Sophia:”I’m going to my parents’ place to get my car, then I’ll go straight to the office,” I said.
