Eight Years of Maybe One Day of I Do—Bride Swapped Deal With It novel Chapter 122

Chapter 4

Just like i couldn’t understand, did Julian ever really love me?

“Babe?”

Julian finally noticed something was off.

“What’s wrong?”

Hearing his voice felt like my heart was being twisted inside out, suffocating me. I choked back the pain and forced myself to ask.

“Julian.”

I used every ounce of strength I had left.

“Julian, do you love me?”

“Julian, would you ever cheat on me?”

The day Julian confessed to me, he got down on one knee in front of all our friends. When I said yes, he broke down crying. He held me tight

and said.

“Aurora, I swear I’ll never let you down.”

“Aurora, I love you. I’ll never-ever-become like my mom. I won’t betray you. I’m yours. Forever.”

And I believed him.

I believed him completely. I believed Julian was the most important person in my life. That no matter what happened, we’d make it through

together until the very end.

Now?

I watched Lilac’s hands wander all over him. Watched her bite down on his throat while he hesitated. He let out a low groan, breathing hard,

and finally answered me.

“Aurora.”

“Don’t overthink it.”

“I’ll be home tomorrow.”

He gripped Lilac’s waist as she pressed herself against him again. His voice strained as he told me.

“Aurora, I gotta go. I’ll call you later.”

He didn’t wait for me to respond.

He hung up.

Julian pulled Lilac closer, his eyes dark with hunger.

“You started this.”

“Lilac,” he grabbed her chin. “You’re gonna finish it.”

I watched the man I loved most and my best friend tangled up under a tree. Watched them stumble into the hotel like they couldn’t wait another second. I sat in that car until the sun came up. Until Lilac walked out with Julian, her face flushed, laughing with the same guys who’d helped him lie to me.

I thought once your heart broke, it couldn’t hurt anymore.

But then they walked past me, laughing, and I caught a snippet of conversation.

“Lilac cleans up nice. She’s not that far off from Aurora, honestly.”

Lilac laughed and playfully shoved the guy.

“Don’t compare me to Aurora. Not everyone’s that high-maintenance and needy.”

I watched Julian let them mock me. Let them cross every line. My throat felt dry and clogged. I felt sick.

Then, just as they were about to leave, I saw Lilac casually open the passenger door-my seat-while everyone cheered her on.

That’s when I snapped.

I threw open my car door and charged at them. Julian’s face went white. He tried to pull Lilac out of the seat, but I was faster.

I slapped him across the face.

“Julian!”
