Emerald Eyed Luna novel Nina (by Mrs.Smith) novel Chapter 45

Nina POV

My head was throbbing and my body ached all over. What happened to me? Everything was pitch black and all I could smell was dirt, blood and sweat. I tried moving my arms and legs. I realized they were tied up with something. The clink I heard told me it was a chain. It was wrapped around my neck, down my back, wrapped around my wrist and down to my ankles. The way my breath came back to hit me, made me realize I had a bag of some sort over my head. Trying to clear my head, I pushed my memory. I remember the date. We were driving home and that’s it.

“We were ambushed. Someone hit our car and we went rolling till we hit a tree that stopped us. You hit your head hard but I am doing my best to heal you!” Raven said.

“You’re still here?! How could that be with the silver chains around me?”

“I don’t know. I think a piece of your jewelry blocks anything from interfering with me. They cannot take me away from you as long as you have that jewelry on. That is the only explanation I have.”

I guess maybe it isn’t really a physical power but a spell to keep things from interfering with my abilities. “Can we break these chains?’ I asked hopefully.

“Once I heal you, your body is weak. Also, I have no idea where we are at and I don’t want to show our hand too early. We still don’t know what you are capable of and if we see a chance or need to make a run for it, we need the element of surprise.” Raven said. Something seemed different about her. She was still the same quiet wolf but more matured?

Raven scoffed at that, “Once we found our mate, I changed. We start to come into our power or abilities as the book said. I can’t wait for you to see me.”

“Me eit…..’ I lost my thought as I heard a door open. I could see a ray of light through the fabric that covered my face. I heard the footsteps that walked closer and closer to me. There were quiet whimpers that followed this. I must not be alone in here. Hearing the keys rattle and I felt a gust of wind. Shit, he is in my cell.

I felt the bag being ripped from my head. Blinking a few times, It took me a second to adjust my eyesight. Looking around, I was on a blanket on the ground. There was a single cot off to the side with a stained mattress. Looked like piss and blood was covered it with something brown. I tried not to think about it. There was a metal bucket off to the side. There were no windows, the walls were solid metal but the door had metal bars. My eyes fell on the man that had entered my holding cell.

He was covered in dirt, deep brown eyes and was shorter in statue. It was hard to tell, but I assumed brown hair as every ounce of him was filthy. He had a blank look on his face.

He zapped something and I saw the electricity ZAP between the metal rods. “If you fight me in any way, I will use this on you, understand?” He had a scary twist to his voice that screamed, please do something so I can torcher you.

I glared at him but nodded. I needed to keep my energy up. I got up behind me and unlocked the lock that apparently was holding the chain tight. I instantly felt relief from the bounds but sharp pains as I could finally bend my arms and legs the correct way. Hurrying to remove myself from the contraption, I scooted back up against the wall and away from him as quickly as I could. I did not want to be near him. I tried to show no weakness as my father had taught me.

“Eat” was all he said and he shoved a metal tray on the floor and walked out, locking the door. I took a moment to look around to examine the room in more detail. The walls were solid metal and so were the bars. I had a feeling they were silver, but since silver doesn’t affect me, I didn’t care. I know I could probably break out. I looked at myself and I still had on my dress. It was covered in blood, torn and barely hanging on. I felt very exposed currently. I looked at the metal tray. There was some mushy thing that might pass for meat and a slice of bread with a water bottle next it. I undid the water and drank half of it.

The door opened again and I instinctively crouched down and backed away from the door. A small girl appeared and smiled weakly at me. She unlocked my door and walked in.
